So since BC had no new class it was bad?
You are using a terrible metric.

To be fair, everything except a new level cap has been seen in mid expansion patches, you can also compare torghast to visions, it’s a new type of content added in a patch not new expansion
Yeah ok, that’s enough forums for now.
/Shakes my head as I leave.
I’ve never seen a mid expansion patch with 5 new zones or 8 new dungeons, on top of also having a new capital city, a whole new raid and a whole leveling experience.
At best content patches bring 1 or 2 new zones, usually without the expansive storylines of the expansion zones, at most 1 new dungeon, maybe 1 or 2 new factions…
The numbers I put in my post are important, why are you dismissing them ?
I’ll reserve judgement on Shadowlands until the Beta is out and I can see for myself. They have promised a lot, just like they did with WoD and we know how that turned out. So, we’ll see. I don’t care if there aren’t any new races or classes added, it would be nice but for me that isn’t the meat of the game, the actual playable content is. I’ll judge based on that.
They will work in existing races customizations. We all agree that this game needs it.
I know this gets said–probably a lot–but Blizzard Entertainment cannot even properly balance the classes that already exist today, and consistently feels that some retarded “meta” needs to exist in order for their game to have any sort of popularity/playability, that a new class would just fall under the same imbalanced scheme that Blizzard obeys. I wouldn’t want a new class if it is allowed to be, and remain, entirely OP for the beginning two Raid Tiers, is slightly nerfed, but still OP, and then is not touched until the ending of the following expansion.
Um so in short OP thinks Shadowlands will be a disaster because there is no new classes/races.
I actually see the fact that there is no new class/race as very positive.
Focus on making the game good, we already have 4642 playable characters.
While I’m hesitant to believe in Blizzard right now, remember how badly people received MoP? It was panned hard, and yet it turned out to be a really good expansion. So there’s still hope, especially because of the good-bad-good cycle I honestly believe is real.
As for your statement: we know nothing about it. I don’t need a new race or class to enjoy the game, I think the current races and classes need to be a focus right now since they all need help. I’d much rather get stuff for my character NOW than just get a new race/class that I’d have to pay to become or level anew.
More raids more dungeons more expanded.New places sounds like a expansion to me.
Agreed, in that it does sound more like a “big” end of expansion area (rather than a whole expansion.)
It seems more like it is another “expansion”, just because of the level squish. It kind of reminds me of Cataclysm; It sort of felt that way.
With that logic that means that Shadowlands is gonna be bad because it lacks a new class.
I wish people would stop saying this, it’s not true.
Although the WC3 fiasco hurts a lot, the content they’ve teased for Shadowlands looks awesome - it’s like they are actively atoning for every single sin they committed in BfA. I’m willing to try it out if it’s not utterly broken on release.
How could we know?
We know a good bit of what Shadowlands is going to look like, but we know nothing about how it runs. This reeks of top-down design. Blizz knows where they want to go but after BFA I don’t have confidence they know how to get there.
Or the pattern is just that every other expansion is good, regardless of any new classes.
I don’t see why having a new class would make Shadowlands significantly better.
I read the full thing. You’re just deflecting with semantics. Your point is that Shadowlands shouldn’t be called an expansion because there’s no new class. Because for some reason, just because the best expansions like Legion and Wrath had a new class, they are therefore the best expansions.
You have literally never read or responded to a single point I have made. Rather, you deflect.
You don’t want to debate because you have a frail argument that you don’t know how to defend.
I find it funny that you purposefully didn’t include TBC which was both great and had no new class. We don’t always need a new class, especially when no ideas would make sense. The class has to fit with the expansion, and tinkers as an example don’t. Necromancers and Dark Rangers will also never be a new class because they already exist under different names. You don’t need a new class to make an expansion good, you just need good class design which BfA didn’t have.
legion being great is debatable
We’re getting different race customizations and class changes. Our classes are broken and unbalanced. I rather be having fun playing any spec on my Druid rather than being afraid to be feral because if I’m not at a certain item level I’ll be noted as the lowest dps. Let them fix the game rather than bringing in a new class.
