Random thought: Are they still not allowed to show bones in China? I thought I remember they had to add skin to undead models on their elbows and knees for some weird censorship reasons.
I’ll be damned.
It went from, “This new game is going to kill WoW”…
to…“WoW is going to kill WoW”.
Actually it has so many veiwers because people watching while in queu for classic
The only thing that could make me consider going back to retail WoW permanently is removing the luxuries that kill the social aspect of the game and slowing the pace down. You gear up so quickly it doesn’t even feel like character progression anymore it just feels like an endless treadmill of chores that you get to enjoy for 3 months tops
Like every game lol NFL, overwatch, fortnight, Apex legends…I can go on. Before you say no to any of these just give it a quick google.
Hyperbole and attention seeking is the newest craze!
I’ve actually been wondering this. I uninstalled a while back so I can’t check unless I reinstall. What’s it like in your servers, retail players? Is it about the same ? What feeling do you get regarding the population over there? Most of the guys I know are only playing classic and said they don’t know either.
Genuinely curious.
Nah retail doing just fine plenty of people laughing at all the classic nubs. Bgs, dungeons, still queing within mins.
Cool, man. If you’re queuing in a couple minutes, that means less people are queueing on alliance though right? I haven’t seen that cited as evidence of population.
There was this very salty post yesterday in the CS forum in the DDoS megathread:
You’ve got to be kidding me, the unbalanced aspect of Classic Warcraft is exactly what makes it fun! I know exactly what I’m getting into and I know exactly how I’m going to spec my avatar to make him as deadly as he can be made in a battleground. I’m running up a Warlock again, he’ll be hell on wheels against hunters, mages, shamans, will hold his own against a rogue, will fold up like a cardboard hat in the rain against a warrior, holy priest or a ret pally. It is precisely the unbalanced nature of the game that makes it fun. It adds a level of complexity to any encounter and forces team play in combat rather than as in retail, the first person that gets cc to stick wins the combat.
There is really nothing more unbalanced in PVP combat than Retail, every class has strong CC, strong healing and most have extremely high mobility. You care to tell me what is fair about a Demon Hunter getting the flag in Twin Peaks? A mounted Pally can’t catch him from the time he jumps off the ledge at the alliance base until he lands at the water, he’ll jump one more time which will put him in the air and moving too fast to cast on and land at the bridge on the horde side. Yep, ultra ballanced there. How about telling me what’s balanced about a monk keeping you stunned and locked out of every cast while pummeling you to death?
Yeah, Classic is unbalanced but at least it’s playable from the PVP standpoint. Last night I was running Blackfathoms Deep, got ganked running in by a rogue mage team. Ran back, resurrected, jumped in the water and they made the mistake of following me. Corps camped them until they called in reinforcements, then withdrew into the tunnels with the rest of my five-man and we annihilated their whole group several times while backing into the instance. Had that been Retail we’d have been stun-locked, the rogue would have casually picked all our pockets, the Pally would have molested us and the shaman would probably cooked clams and watched before finally getting down to the business of exterminating us.
Yeah, you go play your ultra ballanced retail, I’ll stay right here in Classic and enjoy myself.
Edit: I even have all my spells and curses back! I’m almost level 30 and I now have twenty operational buttons on my interface, no more casting “Hurt button one, hurt button two, hurt button three, cc, hurt button four”. Caster? Curse of tongues, fear… run a bit brother, I have something for you. How about a nice Immolate and a little bit of Corruption and two quick Shadow Bolts to increase the damage on all that by a considerable amount? Like that? All good here? I see you’re starting to cast, let me show you a new trick, I can drain your life faster than you can damage me… I love a Warlock, the best I’ve done so far was beat a shaman that was skull and crossbones at level 26 in Redridge. I love Classic, this is going to be fantabulous!
Retail is dead to me. I prefer actual MMORPGs.
Sadly, Retail WoW has become a single player game with a multi-player option. You literally do not have to do anything with anyone, and if you wait long enough everything gets so nerfed it doesn’t matter.
The issue they I think finally have come to understand, is simpler is not always better. Easier is not always better. People even when complaining, still enjoy a challenge. Classic WoW you can move at your own pace, and still get a full experience. Hardcore players can be 60 raiding already, where casual players can enjoy their time with the questing. Professions mean something, upgrades mean something, picking talents is crucial, figure out what rank of what spell to use is crucial… Nothing is handed to you. You accomplish things in Classic and feel like you have accomplished something.
There’s no t-mog, so gear, looks good, and you know that person who has the T2 set, worked for it .
Maybe when they realize Diablo 3 doesn’t work in an MMO, Retail might be worth something again. Until then, it’s going to feel like people swimming in the kiddie pool and missing out on the real fun.
it’s been too me
As retail only it hasn’t been dead at all not on Moon Guard Stormwind and Boreallofus are both still filled as sea world along with junk land.
And I hope your classic continues to do well and we as WOW players can end this us vs them crap and get along because we are all playing the game we like which is World of Warcraft.
Retail may have died bruh.
Twitch views mean nothing, literally nothing
Yep classic is just a brutal reminder that the game has gone through several bad decisions.
Why is it that Classic’s success seems so hinged on Retail’s downfall? Can we not just enjoy the game for what it is rather than what it isn’t?
Checked out my lvl 51 mage in a leveling zone inn on retail. Four other players in and out, so no, peeps still leveling on retail. Maybe they tried classic and left? Like what is the point on classic besides nostalgia. It is a dead end.
