I’m sure you haven’t. This shows you don’t know anything about original wow. Stop acting you do

What’s the point of retail? It’s a never ending cycle of weekly log ins to get better gear to get better gear.

I quite like the idea of an end goal to work towards without having to worry about it all being obsolete within a few months.

retail is a thing? I thought that stopped when they stopped releasing sub numbers out of embarrassment for falling behind Korean games

mwahahaha you are all by yourself now over there ;O

So much this. As someone who absolutely dislikes Retail, I still don’t understand why some people need validation in the form of Retail failing.

They serve different markets. Sure there’s some overlap, but there’s a significant population of people who are subscribed exclusively to play Retail, and a significant population of people subscribed exclusively to play Classic.

If I was forced to choose, I’d say Classic will die before Retail does (and I don’t even like Retail!).

No DK, no me.

:woman_shrugging: To each their own.

Like in reality, people seem to prefer focusing on the negatives of what they view as “against” them rather than concerning themselves with the positives of what they’re playing.

Lol Classic WoW hasnt died in 15 years… do you think BFA would have that kind of staying power…

Uhh, what?

I mean, in a year we’ll have a new expansion. :woman_shrugging:

Yea, and do you think when that happens, that people will play BfA on private servers for the next 15 years until Blizzard is forced to re-release it?

There’s no queue anymore, at least not in the medium/low pop realms.

Odd… I could’ve sworn Classic WoW was only released on August 26th of this year. Perhaps you meant to say “Vanilla”? I’m talking about the literal product called “Classic WoW” as released this year and provided as a specific service by Blizzard. Not the “concept of vanilla WoW”, as that will likely always exist in some form (i.e. at least one private server).

It is very popular with the more casual crowd that likes to do stuff like achievement hunting and mount farming

I felt the same way for a bit… until I tried leveling to 10 just to see how I felt. There is something unsettling when you think about how much time and effort you put in back in the day and going through it again. I also didn’t like the idea that I wouldn’t have all of the things I had achieved in vanilla and thinking of trying to do it all again was a bit off putting.

The best case scenario would be Retail taking great inspiration from Classic’s relaunch and hopefully capitalize on it’s success to steer Retail in a different direction.

doubtful considering the morons who made retail into retail are in the drivers seat both at Activision and on the forums.

Do you think Blizzard will release BC and WOTLK as Classics?

I think I’ll wait until Classic has been out 6 months before I even begin to agree to that, and even then that doesn’t change the tedium of it.

idk I hope so… honestly I’d rather they return to the style of Classic and just make new expansions like that… but that probably wouldn’t go over well with the current retail audience…

Why should they do so? It’s a more tedious form of gameplay.

I’m happy people can enjoy that for whatever reason, but that doesn’t mean Retail needa to mirror Classic.
