Is premade random BGs a thing? If so why?

Yeah, I wouldn’t compare healers to DPS when talking about the necessity of gear. Equal skill and same DPS class, an honor geared player isn’t going to push a conquest geared player much at all.

I watched freak go 27/0 in greens

With a full group supporting them? Get Freak to solo queue a BG in green gear and show it in a movie.

Nah it was just me and him

I think kthis sat a base for us

I’m actually curious as to what base stat%s are before and after

I can buy gear rn actually
pog

Nah i’ve seen cloud the ret paladin in questing gear just decimate an entire teamfight mid by himself. Was phenomenal to watch

My partner i queue with has like 25 alts by the end of the season and i get to play with all of his fresh 0 gear 70s in rated arena right off the bat and he still out dpses the enemy

The absolutely only time honor/crafted gear failed him was against a guardian druid before they got nerfed where the guardian’s passive regen+sleeper literally out hps his dps on a surv hunter before they got buffed and before tier sets. Thats literally the one time i can 100% say his gear failed him. We easily killed his partner and then the bear just jumped for a solid 6 minutes or so because there was nothing we could do

Sorry, I thought you meant you were nearly full conquest geared (450 ilevel) after only doing around 50 random bgs.

Fair enough.
I currently have five pieces that use conquest. Two of them are conquest converted into tier pieces. The rest is scalewarden or shadowflame gear via crafting orders, and 3 honor pieces which are very low priority replacements (trinks and a ring).
The scalewarden gear you can buy from the vendor. The currency comes from doing the bloody token WQs, the actual scalewarden WQs if they are up, the crate drops, and just killing players in wpvp. Scalewarden is often BiS over conquest gear because it can give you different stats. So taking the measly 3 ilvl hit is preferable when you’re able to get your preferred stats.
Shadowflame crafted you just buy the mats from the AH and put in a crafting order with a spark of shadowflame and the conquest trophy you get from opening your first pvp box of the season. In most cases the mats are not too expensive. A few gold a piece at most. But there are a few pieces/mats that will go into the few thousand total.

Honor gear doesn’t feel too bad, especially on some classes. The other thing though is that you aren’t gonna just be in honor gear for very long at all.

You’re gonna have two 450 pieces from crafting after you first win of any instanced PvP content, you can have a piece of scalewarden gear at 447 on your first week or save for two weeks and have weapons the second week which is pretty big and saves a lot of conquest. You’ll also start getting conquest from randoms/epics and weeklies, plus the two epic BG seasonal conquest quests that give big chunks. We also have spoils of war active at this point, increasing daily win amounts by a decent chunk.

I think most people will hit 441-442 very, very quickly and continue going up steadily from there. A 8-9 ilvl difference is not that bad, especially when not everyone in randoms or epics is going to be 450 so the difference will be even smaller. There are plenty of other people gearing up too.

Is this accounting for the free 875 and 700 piece everyone gets?

Also imo everyone should be using two tuesday resets to get a 447 weapon and save 1800 conquest there

And ideally if you can quickly knock out 1600 you get to save another 875 there

This gearing is so great :innocent:

The difference is marginal

10 ilvl is like 1k secondary/1k int

I’ll gladly buy a full set of greens and do a 40-50mil heal game as a challenge

Nobody wins a team fight by themselves and let me quote what I said since I am talking toe to toe here.

Equal skill and same DPS class, an honor geared player isn’t going to push a conquest geared player much at all.

Also, Cloud on his undergeared DK didn’t fare too well in a 2v2 against two geared players.

Vanazar do you want me to do a 50m heal game in greens/blues to show you how little gear matters

What exactly would this prove? It’d be like bragging about topping damage done as a moonkin…

That you don’t need gear to make an impact on a bg

I think it would depend a lot on the class, spec, role, battleground type, etc. Like an undergeared rogue can solo cap nodes on AB, etc…

Make an impact is kind of a low bar, imo, shrug.

Yes class matters at all levels of bgs

Well, if you are solo queued and the enemy team uses BGE and has awareness then you are going to get focused by the opposing team’s heavy hitting DPS.

I forget the exact number, but it’s over 10k if you get full conquest gear.

That happens when im fully geared

Difference is that you would fold in green gear and with no outside support.
