Hardly. Those who raid with friends and guilds, while they might be elitist, are not making it evident by complaining in the forums about non-issues. If it was affecting EVERY M+ player, I could see it as a problem. But there are teams pushing +14 keys, fully geared, and not making a peep. So even if they are not an elitist (since they are far from elite), they are simply a complainer for being here and failing to do what others already do without complaint. Maybe if they spent less time here, and more time learning what the better players are doing, they might find that path and follow it to success. But, since IO says 14+s are being pushed and people are getting geared, I do not see what the roadblock is for this vocal minority.
No one cares about the rank. It’s the score people care about because it directly reflects their experience in the current season. Which is important for being purposes when doing challenging content.
I know why it exists, but it reminds me of arcade games in the 80s. Someone who would spend $30 in quarters and several hundred hours of playtime just to hit #1 on the scoreboard and stay there. IO is just another arcade scoreboard that shows more than the top 10.
Honestly just make tiered dungeons, take delve tier system and put that on dungeons for scaling and that is already significantly better that mythic+ currently is for me. No score, no timer, affixes etc…just dungeons that get harder the higher tier you go.
I’d bet any amount of gold a system like this that was just as rewarding would be way more popular than how mythic+ is right now.
Remember that score originated as a completely player made thing in Legion that took until Shadowlands season 2 for Blizzard to add into the game.
It evolved out of a necessity to have some level of confidence in who you are inviting to pug groups because of how keys work and you have 1 shot at something with no time to just keep repeating it.
Except for those who actually do like M+, who now lose a game mode for the chance that other players would like that more. When instead, the game could have both game modes available for players.
A problem I see with no punishment is that the key holder during a pug could be unsatisfied and just leave to find a new group. So there’s less pressure to stick together
That’s why I never said to replace m+, I’m aware there are people who enjoy it so I wouldn’t want to ruin it for them, instead make a completely seperate endgame dungeon type outside of them with this delve tier technology and then people can enjoy dungeons how they want.
I get what you are saying, but there’s only a very minor fraction of players who care about the rank and staying there which are the title pushers. The rest of us 99.8% only use it to vet complete strangers. Without it we would invite players based on ilvl which we all know doesn’t show much. Achievements are also terrible metrics especially because there’s so much inbetween KSM and KSH.

If keys only go up eventually everyone has keys for levels they can’t really complete.

Mythic+ and Mythic in general is one of the stupidest decisions that Blizzard has come up with. Heroic has been the hardest tier to raiding and dungeons since BC and yet you have epeen-strokers who need to feel far more superior than everyone else.
I have been playing WoW since Beta, and was in a hardcore raiding guild in Vanilla and was our Hunter lead, even one of the first in getting Rhok’Delar. Back then, raiding was freaking hard. I know everyone has seen the 50 DKP MINUS Ony wipe video. I raided in a guild like that. But Blizzard has caved to Twitch-Tw#ts and gave them a reason to not look at their lives and jump off a bridge because their only friends are subscribers.
Mythic needs to be removed from the game and Blizzard needs to go back to actually making Heroics Heroic again.

Just make keys like delves; unlock them by timing the previous one, can only do the level of the lowest player.
Maybe change it so it’s per dungeon,not just across the board, let +2 & +3 the timer jump you 2 or 3 levels. But once you push, say Ara-Kara to the point you timed a 9 then you can just do a 10 when ever.
Get rid of the whole “what key you got” rng
If i had a high key and i needed it for rating, and it got down grated this mean i have to run a lower one to get no rating, and then a random one when timed, i wouldnt even play anymore

I like running M+ with different classes and spec but this season is just sucking the joy out of it.
Every key is worse than the last no matter the lvl but even if it were a 2-5, it should not be misserable.
I’m unsure about player growth, but M+ (and the rest of PVE) will feel like a shell of it’s former self until defensive rotations are primarily for tanks again.
Yep. Treating kids as no better than NEETs if they weren’t the best just made all but the best of them into NEETs.

Deranking isn’t Blizzard coming to personally admonish you for not timing a key. Deranking is the method by which keys are distributed over a significant time, and thus the basis for the reward structure.
Did you have a stroke writing this. Like what are you asking for? Like are you asking for Mythic Raids basically to be renamed to Heroic Raids and Heroic Raids renamed to Normal and just have LFR? That’s effectively what was the case from ICC onwards.

M+ is clearly what’s keeping the game going based on how much dev time they put into tuning and patching. It gets more attention than pretty much anything. They wouldn’t be do so if it didn’t generate money for them. If it was a true net-negative they would have scrapped it a long time ago.
