Is LFR heading for the chopping block?

This is the biggest non-issue I think I’ve ever seen on these forums, which is pretty impressive. I don’t think you could find a guild with a set 30 man roster if you tried.

Anyone can see this on youtube or twitch. Paying for a sub gives you access to the live subscription service, not entitlement to all of the games content.

I don’t think LFR is that harmful, but your reasoning is literally just entitlement.

Yes it is entitlement. Paying for the game is entitlement.

They paid for the expansion, and are paying for subs.

Who are we to tell them they are not entitled to see the game.

So if you pay for a game and preorder, and the devs send you an email with a YouTube link and say, watch this YouTube video and all’s good?

Thanks for the 60 bucks. You’d be okay?

maybe, the time I encountered the issue was back in WoTLK. Really not sure how small guilds are now. But I’m sure there is likely a zerg guild or two that could fill a 30 man roster if they wanted to.

I don’t think LFR should be removed but it needs a lot of work, because even ignoring the loot it’s not worth stepping into. It’s just a colossal waste of time where half or more of the raid flops around like noodles until things somehow work out.

LFR is probably the most played difficulty of raiding. I don’t think it’s going anywhere.

You just made up some arbitrary thing that has nothing to do with what I said. No you are not entitled to the game, or any of its content. I’m not sure if you’ve ever read the TOS. Consumerism at its finest, just because you paid for a game doesn’t mean you get to freely beat it. People pay for dark souls and it doesn’t give them an option to just “watch cutscenes” so why are they not in trouble for it? Oh hmm… yeah because its no ones right to be able to complete every bit of content. Sure you can go into it, you can try it, but if you cannot complete it thats not blizzards fault, and they aren’t required to put something in that holds your hand to make sure you get your participation trophy.

I came off aggressive sorry. Just trying to understand what you would Do if you were in charge, because I believe people who share your mindset are very common and are who blizzard is trying to cater to. And I think they have no solution. Something has to give

It’s fine, I understand people get passionate about their video games. If you go back to my first response in here I mention how it all makes me conflicted. So I really don’t have a solution. I just know I would probably quit if something happened to LFR, but I also understand the issues it causes. It’s a good thing it’s not my job to come up with solutions.

They will do everything possible to keep the systems, but make them “better.” In this market, not having a system to put groups together automatically is a bad idea. Removing one that has been in the game longer than it hasn’t would be devastating.

They won’t remove these things, and they won’t make them completely pointless, either.

Hard to say. But the worldofwargraphs site shows that 64% of active players killed Azshara on any difficulty, and 39% had AOTC. So that tells us that more players killed Azshara on Heroic than on LFR/Normal.

Crazy thought. Tune LFR to be as difficult as any normal raid, and then offer two different means to go into a Normal raid. It’s really not Blizzard’s problem if people are too stupid to communicate and cooperate. Case and point, N’zoth. It’s not their problem if your too brain-dead to grasp mechanics.

FFXIV does this with their Duty Finder and it works perfectly.

I think people forget this as well, lfr/lfd have existed significantly longer then wow did without those systems. Removing them could potentially kill the game. I don’t see any chance they ever get removed.

Maybe, but if someone mentioned flight prior to WoD. Someone might have made this same argument you are making.

Yes, that is a single player game. They don’t depend on consumers to survive. They release a game and whatever they get is that.

WoW has a subscription model. Having the majority of the community not being able to experience the game is just retardation at its finest.

If LFR people just unsub, you probably will lost a whole lot of income from blizzards view.

And the real question is, why do YOU as a person feel they shouldn’t see raids?

Does it diminish your raiding experience?

Does it lower the Ilvl of gear you get from heroic and mythic raids?

Does it suddenly mean they get the title of cutting edge players?

Does it mean they get the mount that comes with AOTC?

Then why stop people from seeing content? The max Ilvl of the gear is so Low you get better gear from world emissaries

I think removing LFR or LFD would result in the Devs who did so, getting axed when the fall-out and cost of subs happened. Those Devs would quickly be penning letters on how they were moving to “new and exciting projects with other companies”. Now upgrading LFR’s difficulty so that players have to play at a certain level to succeed? Hell yes, absolutely.

Ditch the trashy slot machine loot systems that cause duplicate loot on bonus rolls while your at it.

But the first thing Blizzard needs to fix before they touch LFR or anything else is the Classes. They need to fix the classes they’ve screwed up, and then they need to STOP with the ongoing redesigns over and over and over again. That hurts the game way more than LFR ever has.

Then once that mess is solved, then lets look at setting up LFR (Normal, Heroic, and Mythic). If people can’t hack it, again that’s their problem not Blizzard’s. Getting a participation Trophy is not what any MMO has ever been about.

I never said that they shouldn’t. I even agreed with you that LFR isn’t negative. I’m pointing out that legally you are incorrect. You do not have rights when purchasing a subscription involving the game, only that you are allowed to use the service, and that it is not faulty. This does not only apply to single player games. You’re literally paying for the live service.

I personally don’t care whats handed to them, it doesn’t mean they have the rights to it though.

Did the person that came up with the idea of RealID get axed? You know how many people unsubbed just because they THOUGHT about doing this?

Did the person that came up with the idea of removing flight get axed?

They have and try to implement bad ideas all the time. Nobody ever actually gets axed for it.

Mr. Crab’s departure says otherwise.

Sort of, ya. Are we entitled to see the last boss of Dark Souls if we cannot progress that far due to difficulty? Hard games exist. This used to be one.
