I’ve been wondering if it’s time myself for a bit now.
I only play now to work professions, and the annoying timegated knowledge point system they carried over from DF now with even longer tracks to keep you extra busy for engagement metrics.
The game just isn’t fun. I’m hoping that Undermine will breathe some life into it so I’m just logging in, working those professions, and trying to get the most out of my sub, and I loved Mechagon back in the day, so we’ll see.
It’s hard to give a damn when the people in charge (not the devs, I feel bad for how much they’re overworked with all the firings that happened) don’t give a damn either.
I was hoping when Activision was ousted that Microsoft would be a better home for Blizzard, but honestly it’s gotten worse. And that’s crazy to think about. The game is incomplete, buggy, we’re paid beta testers b/c they don’t listen to the reports of the actual beta, and it’s disappointing this is what WoW has become.
My OCD keeps me logging in, but I’m not sure for how much longer.

Most have just learned to be cruel without using a four letter word while they do it. Plenty of ways to do it while skirting the CoC and actually using it as a defense of your actions if you can get another person to blow their lid.

You’ll be a lot happier if you play another game along with this one. I have enjoyed WOW so much more now that I play multiple games instead of just playing this non stop with my free time.

Some of you are something special. Do you realize this is mostly done in advance right. Microsoft hasn’t been in charge long enough to alter squat. Not to mention nothing will change anyways they own the studio but that’s it the people working on the game are the same ones as before.
What do you do if you started in 2004 and are already super bitter because of blizzard spitting in the faces of the fans who made them great, all so they could cater instead to lowbrows who belong in games like Fortnite.

Say what you want but you’re the one that’s clearly angry and taking time out of your day and life to post about a game you don’t even enjoy. If you truly believe what you said in these quotes, then leave.

I like how people create these threads like they have to justify why they are going to stop playing.
If you’re not having fun, then just take a break or quit. It’s a game, not a job.

I’m in the same boat. What this game could be is so far from what it is now. It’s become a shadow of its former glory. The devs think too small. Small endgame loops, small stories, small stakes.
Remember the first time going through the great portal to start BC? Wrathgate? Opening assault in MoP and Legion. Varian sacrificing himself. Killing the Lich King. Hellscream’s villainous turn. Saurfang challenging Syvanus. This game was filled with awesome stories. Even Ysera’s death and rebirth in Legion/SL.
Since DF retail has become a small, sad crumb of what it used to be.

The game has been the same iteration of things with new models since TBC.
and yet you’ve been playing it for 5 years. Stop looking out for validation that your time spent in a video game matters. Tomorrow the shareholders will decide that WoW isn’t profitable anymore and pull the plug. If you don’t have fun anymore, go do something else. “But, but…, fomo…, payed subs, my progress…” It doesn’t matter. It’s a video game.

Cowboy zone was incredible. Though I did find the accents hilarious. That one guy who couldn’t decide if he was gonna put on a Southern drawl or not, and kept going back and forth between cutscenes lol.

It’s not always breaks that can fix the problems of this game. And the response to these posts aren’t always “take a break lol” how about? “It might be time to leave this bad game behind.”
