Both sides can, but not at the same time. The faction that is currently over represented has the option to queue for the other.
ended up with 22 mins in queue. There was no merc npc. (EU BTW)
cross faction bgs would ruin most wow relationships. playing with friends doesn’t always equal playing against friends.

Most WoW relationships would be ruined by cross-faction bgs? Really? In that case, we better not do this.
Kinda weird if “friends” always have to be on the same team because their “friendship” will be ruined if they’re on opposite sides.
You can just say that the premade raid thing only works if most/all of your parties are on the same team. It’s not an issue for players in normal premades (5 and under).
queues are way to long tbh, anything that lets us play the game is good

We are long overdue for cross faction unrated pvp. If I had to guess, at this point it’s a matter of when, not if we get it. Technically speaking I bet it’s not exactly a small task, and will require quite a bit of testing.
So I’m not holding my breath waiting to see it happen this expansion. But I would be surprised if we don’t see it next expansion.

i read that as pattiness at first, but no, pointing out water is wet isn’t petty.
dw even with xrealm bgs we will still have those threads the same as angry anti premade threads . dont hold your breath.
Premades would be less common with cross faction bgs though, atleast, sync queue premades. I don’t think regular 5 man premades are a problem because everyone can do it realistically and the game tries to pair premades against premades.

If I play mercenary. Alliance is my native and play horde. Wow, I have fun. I am sure there are Alliance teams that do well, I know I have had a few ally teams now that do play well…
Alliance is not always nice to play with so I play with the horde who do not scream at each other as much.
I do not like to sit in the queue say at 3am Central US Time for 30 minutes because there aren’t enough overseas people playing.,
In Mercenary, Why does an alliance toon have to turn into a horde, did they program the game to use visual identification vs player code tag. Does it matter if I look like my NE playing with a bunch of monsters. Or, does blizzard think “oh if the alliance sees one of there people playing horde or VS Horde Playing Alliance it will cause a mental problem”?
Do we really think we have that much time in a pvp match to say. wow look at that traitor?
When I drop my battleflag I make sure the alliance can see its an alliance battle standard and that my Alliance Glider opens up real wide so they see I don’t like them either!!!

At that point you might as well faction change.
It would fix several problems and id be down for it for sure. It already happens in rated play so it would be a good thing for casuals to be able to play both sides of the map and get used to the different routes people take running flags and so forth.
I agree, I’ve learned a few valuable strats from playing horde, some are totally different perspectives of the same BG or ebg. Horde due have a heck of drive in them. Even when the chips are down we can manage a slim win… < a joke popped into my head about slim win someday I’ll tell it.
