Is it time for PI to die?

Sure do, so tell me comparing PI to any other ability in the game, is it an extreme outlier?

Humanity problem you mean?

Or are you just ignorant?
Or you just don’t want to admit that i’m right?

Probably both.

He’s just hardcore trolling right now, stop engaging IMO. He knows exactly what the issue is, he’s just trolling and pretending.

Anybody who raids, including those who benefit, knows why PI (the only single target external game breaking cooldown) is bad.

Can they not pi themselves??

No I don’t mean personal problem as in it’s just a problem for you, I mean personal problem as in why should anyone who isn’t feeling that way care?

The game that players invented for themselves of beating their raid mates in damage is unimportant. It does not matter. I don’t care how strongly people care about it. It is not a goal given to you by the game, the players made it up out of whole cloth.

I know why people are upset about it. I just don’t see why I, or more importantly Blizzard, should care. This isn’t a problem that has a tangible effect on anything other than a player’s ego.

They can. But raid members get angry when they do that because they could have PI’d someone else. Which is a problem apparantly.

You younglings are over using the word toxic.
It doesnt mean “anything that makes me mad or offends me is toxic”

Stop it!! Get some new words to express your dissatisfaction.

My priest loves PI… ON MYSELF… most people demand to have it so I don’t give it to them.

I make use of it myself and feast on their…

now if someone ask nicely, in raids/RBG’s I usually will give it IF I think it’s worth it, usually is in RBG’s not as much in raiding.

but SOTFO is only raid this expansion where I haven’t fully completed heroic due to guild fallout issues and finding a new one.

aka why I have like 10 lvl 60’s with like 4-5 of them around +/- 250 item lvl

Oh heck no. Im going to gear my priest just so i can eat pi in front of the mages and locks.

If it were a humanity problem then this would be an issue on FFXIV. Dancer can buff one player and it’s not a 20 second thing, it is the entire fight.

It’s a you, and other silly people, issue… don’t kid yourself otherwise.

Sry chief, you don’t get to say what’s important or not.

So we’re going to give our feedback that the ability is hot garbage for the game, so that Blizz removes it.

You being dismissive of why we think it’s hot garbage is an exact you problem.

FFXIV is mostly for casuals, i really don’t care for their setup.
And yes, casuals don’t matter, you heard it here first, folks!

People forget WoW is a MMORPG, teamwork should be the priority, not d*ck comparing. It’s philosophy is as simple as giving the buff to whoever needs it more. But now, these people pretend support spells should not be a thing in a MMORPG because it “all of us or no one.”

Blizzard has already said that they don’t want to arbitrarily limit their design space by making external buffs off-limits due to WoWlogs rankings. They have also said that PvE content is a team game and they view class balance through that lens, not an individual competitive lens. I find it more likely that they add MORE external buffs to make PI less singled out rather than removing PI.

This is not a new discussion. It’s been happening on and off for years now and Blizzard is currently in a very receptive mood when it comes to player feedback. If PI being removed was on the table, I would have expected it to happen with the reveal of the Priest talent trees today. It’s still there and it can still be cast on others.

I think it’s still possible that they’ll change it and while I won’t lose any sleep over it, I do think that a game with external buffs is a more complex and interesting game than one without. So I’d lament that loss at the very least.

There is not much that is complex about PI nor Interesting, and any benefit it brings is far outweighed by the negative social aspect and unfun and destroying of logs. Its the only ability that is this bad, its an outlier, and it should be made self only like every other cooldown in the game that is like it.

Blizzard also said MEANINGFUL CHOICE… and how did that trash turn out?
Oh yeah…

I usually agree with you and Reshyk on most things, but I’d just like to point out that I see flame wars over dancer buffs posted up on the “GCBTW” alternate ffxiv sub I cannot spell the actual name of lol, but uhhhhhh js I think it might not be totally honest to put forth the idea that nobody on FFXIV has ever made a dumb amount of drama over that buff.

That’s fair, I have never visited a fan site other than OF. I will concede my point may be based on faulty knowledge.

I’d be surprised if there was absolutely zero drama over it. I mean, I see enough memes about it and everything. Law of 10% and all that. (Something I learned growing up, take any community on the planet and assume that roughly 10% of them are jerks.)

But from a broad community level it’s definitely less of an issue than PI is. I think that the FF14 is more used to the idea of players buffing someone other than themselves because it’s so much more common there. Indeed, Samurai and Black Mage are notable in being the only DPS classes who don’t buff the party in some way.

Personally when I play Dancer, I actually change my dance partner if for instance my partner dies and gets the weakness debuff. -25% stats is no joke after all.

That I would definitely agree with yes. Though to be fair it seems like every issue is a bigger deal in this community versus any other. :joy:

Yep, you’re right. Please PI your tank. They will thank you lol. If I want PI I just play my survival hunter.
