I mean the 3rd parties aren’t going in and saying who goes to the top. They just collect the data from log reports and sort people from lowest to highest.
My PI Weakaura already does this and it’s super nice because it helps me know when I got PI lmao
It /s Thanks with the priests name. it’s kewl
and they could report it with PI cheese not included or listed seperatly. When wowhead goes “heres the damage at the 95%” they can remove the people with PI cheese from the data to give actual listing, but they don’t, they include the PI which makes anyone or class that doesn’t get it look artifically worse. If they did remove them baseline from the data collection it wouldn’t be a problem cause it wouldnt be reported on. Still have the logged for people looking to push but keep it separate from the normal data.
Ah I see what you mean. My question to you is: so what? True they don’t make up numbers whole cloth, but they do assign them meaning in the form of a ranking system. That ranking system just so happens to not matter in the actual game.
There is no prize for being the top damage player on your team. In group encounters, the only thing that matters is group damage, not individual damage. A Priest who is good at placing his PI on the targets who will benefit from it most will contribute more to group damage than the one who only uses it on himself, even though the second Priest will show up higher on the warcraftlogs ranking board than the first one.
I try to give my PI to people who aren’t expecting it. Time for the monk to have all the energy they ever dreamed of!
spoken like a true feral druid lol.
What does that have to do with anything?
Should add a /y that mocks the other dps for not being worthy of the blessing.
Just because YOU do not care about ranking, doesn’t mean everyone else has to not care. The more that playing field is equal and level the better.
They have a similar thing in Overwatch where a healer powers up an ultimate and once powered can toss on 1 out of 6 (soon to be 1 out of 5) team mates.
I don’t think it’s going away any time soon , if anything they might nerf it into the ground if enough elitists want it.
the idea that people are “elitists” for wanting something toxic and op to be removed is a new one… usually the thought is more “get good and deal with it”.
I believe this perspective is killing the game.
I don’t think it levels the playing field, I think it only exacerbates the issue by creating more barriers to entry.
Did I say anywhere that players shouldn’t attempt to maximize their own damage? Because they absolutely should. More damage makes fights shorter and therefore safer. High damage is a useful tool in a lot of scenarios and players who are able to perform mechanics with minimal disruption to their rotation and who optimize their damage more effectively are better players than those who don’t. It’s good to be a valuable asset to your team. PI allows you to be that asset regardless of who you cast it on.
You can care about the ranking system on warcraftlogs all you want. That doesn’t mean it actually matters and it certainly doesn’t mean Blizzard should design their game around it. Like I said earlier, take it up with the people who actually maintain the scoreboard, not with Blizzard.
Power Infusion sounds amazing.
I gotta finish leveling my Priest lmao.
I swear logs do funny things to people. I’ve never before seen any class so desperately begging for Blizzard to nerf them. And make no mistake, making PI self-cast only is a very definite nerf. If you can cast it on anyone, that means you’re able to cast it on the raid member who would get the most benefit from it, which may not be yourself.
Group damage matters more than individual damage. The boss dies when the group damage exceeds a certain threshold, not when one of the members achieves a gold parse. A PI that can be cast on anyone can raise group damage by more than a PI that can only be cast on the Priest can.
Unless someone can explain to me why this change needs to be made without making any reference to warcraftlogs, it’s not a change I can support.
That’s why dumb people shouldn’t be allowed to look at logs.
Sure does. So balance everything around having the cancerous external cooldown (PI) removed and we’re all good.

Try and stop me!
You’re going to have to link those two statements for me. Why is PI cancerous and why does removing it make class balance better from a group damage perspective?
