Well there’s no turning back time at this rate, the players are what the players are. All Blizzard can do is somewhat try to facilitate and recreate (with small concessions here and there for the “modern playerbase”, like the chronoboon).
I have a casual suspicion that Blizzard is keenly aware of the current AV-only meta and they may have something up their sleeve. Could be they’re just waiting for more excessive data before pulling the ripcord on some kind of hph nerf to AV or buff to the others (hopefully the latter).
I gave up on WoW and its player base a long time ago.
My biggest frustration is that as a 2004 player myself who subbed long enough for the Veteran statue and kept trying to “recapture the magic”, 2019 got me something I thought was gone forever (BFA was a bust for me, I gave it like 1.5 weeks before quitting, and I never even looked into Vanilla pservers thinking it was me who had changed. So 2019-2020 were flat-out amazing as far as this game is concerned).
I do think covid helped in a way as bad as that sounds though.
I met some of the most awesome people and I still talk to many even though they quit WoW again along the way. Yes, things were “sweatier” but I’ve figured out that I was around sweaty people in 2005 too. I raided to 12/15 Naxx, PVPed in premades, wpvped with the raiding guild against other raiding guilds. All of that in Vanilla.
I don’t really get how things can get so bad in 4 years but I guess that it is how it is.
At least I was able to enjoy WoW in 2019 - 2020 just like I did in 2004 - 2006.
Yes, I’d love to see things improve and I hope tweaks are being made. I’m holding out hope or I wouldn’t be here.

You realize half the US wasnt affected by the scam demic right? Where I live nothing changed. We went to work every day as normal. I mean 14 days off for a common cold would have been amazing but in my part of the world people are a little more intelligent :d
Yeah but highly populated big cities were all shut down so I tend to lean towards it boosting classic. Regardless it was still huge even before covid. But it happened right at the rank. We’ve never seen pvp on that scale before. It’ll never be recreated either

Yes, Lazarak is also correct that Classic 2019, precovid, brought in a flood of people in a way that will never happen again. I loved those days in the game.
Like I said I’m not going to debate this, it’s against the rules as well. You’ve mentioned the suspensions before over things like that but it’s like you can’t put two and two together.

My posts on this thread were meant to discuss WoW. Sure I opened and mentioned one painful thing to shut that other talk down, 99.99% of people would have respected that regardless of their opinions. This is what I mean in all my posts about the poor social skills of some WoW players. I’ll just report from now on.

Regardless, whether that’s true or not, it’s irrelevant. If you really believe that COVID wasn’t a contributing factor to Classic’s popularity in 2020, you might as well live under a rock.
