You don’t earn any IRL money for being the thousandth guild to finish a raid in WoW?

Atleast the women won’t be groped.
Weird comment considering multiple people from Limit are playing it.
The base game comes with most of the expansions. Like most people will tell you, if you like story rich JRPG, the game is a blast. The group content isn’t as “technical” as wow’s, but honestly that’s probably a good thing. More focus on your character and your story.
Since this thread is not about World of Warcraft, this post belongs in the “Off-Topic” section of the forums, specifically under the “Games, Gaming, and Hardware” section.
Thanks!
As if this entire forum isn’t about random non-WoW stuff
This is actually directly related to the development of world of Warcraft. It’s feedback.
“Your game is now objectively worse than an online JRPG, plz fix”
It’s a nice looking game and has lots of charm and a beautiful soundtrack, but mechanically speaking I think it is inferior to WoW.
Getting through the base game is an absolute slog. The combat is slow and stiff. You spend as much time clicking through cutscenes as you do leveling and the questing is a bunch of: Go here. Talk. Go there. Talk. Fight something. Now go back there. Talk.
They know even their die hard fans don’t like the base game so they outright sell a skip for the entire thing in their cash shop. In addition to that there is a permanent exp boost for players under 70 because they are trying to get players through that content as quick as possible.
I keep trying at different times of day to get on a server but I have yet to be successful so for that reason alone I must reply to your question with a no.
Lots of servers open right now
At the very least, you should try it out. You might enjoy it more than Warcraft, as some people have recently found out. Or you may not enjoy it. But you should definitely try it.
Let me see if I can get on… this could be the problem. Most of my attempts have not been in the middle of the morning.
Give Zepla’s vid a quick watch, she goes over the “cans and cannots” of the trial version. The FFXIV free trial is, IMO, much more lenient than Warcraft’s and is very much worth it to get an idea of if FFXIV is for you or not.
That’s not what the OP said, and the entire discussion coming from what he said if it is coming to that is off topic.
star wars the old republic
I’ve played a Dragoon up to just shy of Level 40, so bearing that in mind…
FFXIV is very much about the story. Yes, the actual quests are very similar to WoW - most of them are “go here, kill x mobs or collect y items and come back to me for a reward”. But the overall story is much deeper and more involved than that of WoW - and I’m still on A Realm Reborn. Many others have said that the story improves once you get into the expansions but I can’t comment on that directly other than to say I’m looking forward to it.
FFXIV also appears to be much less interested in grinds for power and timegating. You start off with lowbie gear, and as you do quests/earn money, you get better gear. Plus the crafting world appears to be much richer and important than in WoW, from what I can tell.
You do not need alts in FFXIV. You can do every class (called jobs) and level every profession in the game on one character. So that’s nice.
On the other hand, in my opinion, the combat in WoW is far superior. Combat in FFXIV feels sluggish. Again, others have discussed this at length, and I do expect it to change as I level, but I have always enjoyed the mechanics of WoW’s combat and I honestly don’t expect that to change, for me.
WoW’s world is much less immersion-breaking. FFXIV has smaller zones and lots of load screens - not a deal-breaker for me, but I can see how others wouldn’t enjoy it. For whatever it’s worth, it reminds me a lot of the way the world is set up in FF XIII or, to a lesser extent, FFVII Remake.
I personally enjoy all of the tributes and throwbacks to previous FF games, having played all of them since the original (with the exception of FF XI).
Also FFXIV has player housing. That matters a lot to some, less to others. But it does have it.
I honestly can’t say that one game is superior to the other, as there are some areas where WoW is better and other areas where FFXIV is better. That said, the two biggest areas where FFXIV is FAR superior to WoW is story, and respect for the player’s time. The biggest areas where WoW is FAR superior is combat and PvP (probably raiding also but I haven’t raided in FFXIV so can’t comment). At the end of the day, you should download the free trial and try it yourself. You can’t do everything in the game but you can definitely do enough to decide for yourself if it’s worth continuing.
Well after a brief wait I was able to get on one of the 3 worlds I have characters started. OP it’s a free trial so I guess give it a try? I started Guild Wars 2 over the weekend though and so far I enjoy it a lot!
They’re swamped with new players at the moment with queues to get on servers. They’re recommending creating new characters at off peak times to avoid problems and they’ve stated that free trial players may not be properly catered for with all that going on.
New servers are not easily obtainable with the current chip shortage so they’re asking players to be patient.
Took month for Asmon to just reach Heavensward expansion included in trial. And he haven’t even finished all optional content
You’re just too used to WoW devs only knowing how to use 3 colors in any given zone.
