What’s considered griefing when it comes to a PVP server?
My understanding is that it’s only constantly killing quest givers
to my knowledge it’s pretty straightforward. graveyard camping after someone’s taken rez sickness to get outta there, killing a flight master to hold a player hostage, camping questgivers
This is not correct, and has been addressed several times on the forums. On a pvp server it’s pretty much anything goes, since there’s a pvp solution to the ‘problem’. Corpse camping is allowed, as is killing any flagged NPC. You can’t hold a player hostage, since they can move to a new quest zone, flight master, or area away from where they’re being camped.
Forum staff have repeatedly said if an NPC is flagged, they’re free to be killed; players can move on to other quests in the meantime. This came up often on the CS forums, more so for pve realm NPC camping, but on a pvp realm there are fewer rules, since you can kill the player who is spawn camping the NPC- or have level 60 players do it for you. For it to be griefing on a pvp server, it would have to be a very extreme situation, like something that goes on for days on end, quite possibly longer.

Not even that, the only time i’ve even heard of a GM getting involved was when people kited NPC’s away, hid them, and didn’t kill them. Effectively preventing them from respawning but also making the pvp solution to a pvp problem not really work.
Picking off anyone on the way to the BWL orb? That’s just PvP. But dispelling them? Oho, that’s crossing the line, buddy.

The key word being “combat”.
By your logic they should make MC, freezing traps and the like also not work. Or healing, I mean, you’re not even TARGETTING the opposing player.

Sure, if you desire to engage in mental gymnastics.
Your point? Combat is an action state; if you don’t want to be engaged in any type of pvp combat, then roll on a pve realm. You don’t get to pick and choose what type of combat you get to engage in on a pvp realm, that’s always how it’s been. Twist worlds however you want, that’s Blizzards stance.

Blizzard is also cool with multiboxers and paid boosts of AFK characters. Many players are of the opinion that blizzard is wrong about certain things, and those players have every right to voice those opinions.
No sympathy for spammers. Or streamers who whine about being a target on a pvp server really.

I didn’t say you gave that impression, I’m sorry if my using the word ‘you’ implied it was directed at you, it was a generalized statement directed at anyone who thinks there should be some exemptions on a pvp realm (like not spawn camping NPC’s or corpse campaign or removing world buffs). If someone is flagged, it’s fair game on a pvp realm.

LOL! You’re the one claiming dispelling someone who’s flagged isn’t PvP because it isn’t “combat” i.e., smacking them or using offensive spells. Well neither are trapping, fearing, poly, MCing, and certainly not healing your teammates.
Either dispelling is PVP or none of these things are.
The truth is you’re a care bear who shouldn’t have rolled on a PvP server to begin with.
