I’m just wondering if Blizzard planted a bunch of fake “real player” character bots throughout the various Classic servers because even the realms I have characters on that display a “high” server population, the major cities are ghost towns, nobody speaks in trade chat, there’s hardly any groups forming for anything in the LFG channels, etc…
And what’s further fueling this hypothesis of mine is that I have been in the Barrens on my Hunter now for over an hour trying to get a rare cat to tame, and while sitting there in the same spot just waiting for the respawn for over an hour, I’ve noticed that every 3 minutes, a level 27 Undead Rogue named Vexan will fly by. At first I thought he was just turning in a bunch of quests, but after about 30 minutes of it I started timing the lengths between him flying over-head and I’ve clocked it at about every 3 minutes he flies over the same spot. I would think that on a level 27 if there’s an actual player doing that on purpose because they’re weird that they’d be out of money to keep doing it before long.
Incendius’ Ironforge and Stormwind are packed to bursting right now, and thats not even all the players leveling, doing dungeons, and raiding who are online.
The only time I’m not tripping over two dozen other players on the way to the mailbox is when everyone is asleep.
Blizzard wants Classic to fail as much as anybody. There’s no better way to simultaneously be declared the hero and get to say “I told you so” more than having Classic crash and burn.
Before the announcement, the forum mods were paid solely based on how many “Wall of No” posts they could allow to be spammed into a thread before it became too toxic to keep open.
Dont know what Incendius is like but both WS and HS
at 3:30 AM on a work day, i can find banter in LFG, and people in zones and cities.
And people should be asleep!
(i just dont get home from work til after 1am)
I’d venture to say that Classic is probably doing BETTER than Retail. Shadowlands will give Retail a boost for a month or two, but after the newness wears off, Classic will be back on top.
I bet the developers are just crazy-angry that a 15 year old game is just whooping anything they can come up with. Maybe the old saying is true: if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
That is not entirely true. They want classic to be popular because it’s free money. You say it’s because they want to “say I told you so”, and realistically several of their decisions would indicate this, but more than anything they want a profit margin. As much money for as little effort and expense. This is why BC will happen and not classic+.
Classic brought back more subs in one quarter than any previous quarter in wow history. Activision is rolling in cash laughing. Blizzard wants classic subs because it’s a percentage game where a percentage of those subs will buy shadowlands, which will look good on paper to Activision.
In short, while classic may turn j Allen buttcracks stomach, their pocketbook is getting very fat.
It is very evident they don’t care about “the game”, but they care about money. If they cared about the game batching would never have been implemented. blizzard either doesn’t understand or doesn’t care that the playerbase doesn’t want the technical limitations of vanilla, but the playerbase loves the game and world of vanilla, and Blizzard haven’t separated the two. it’s the middle finger to the playerbase of “you think you do”.
If they cared about the game the name reservation would have never happened to milk players for two weeks of subs so they could get an estimate of financials.
They’re all in the LFG channel my friend, it’s Classic 2019’s “Trade Chat”, heck I don’t think anyone even uses Trade chat or “Genera” any more…
So if you don’t have that on 100% of the time you’re kinda missing out on the community side of things…
Also you need to consider that the “modern gamer” is way more anti-social now days because they have been playing world of menu craft for the last 15 years…
As a result they don’t talk, and don’t figure things out for them selves, instead they get a guide for everything and simply copy / paste that game play to themselves with out much real understanding of the class they’re playing.
As a result bad players start to think they’re good when all the actual work was done for them years ago.
Odds are that 27 Rogue is a bot, not a real player or even a Blizzard Bot… YES BLIZZARD DOES USE BOTS for those of you who don’t know this…
Blizzard started to use Bot’s in BFA because PVP attendance Alliance side was so low on certain maps that they had to do this to get games to pop.
They didn’t put as much time and effort into making Classic a reality only to hope that it fails. Don’t be obtuse. No one cares about being proved right. They want to make money and we want to relive the nostalgia.
