Is calling players out for low DPS considered harassment?

it’s literally on her portrait.

For this tier, no, passing on new raid outside of heroic, don’t have the time like I used to. But I mt for my group on my druid and all of my addons are purely QoL for things in the open world. Haven’t had them since Ragnaros in Cata? Maybe 1st tier in MoP, been a long time. I don’t use combat addons because they are a crutch for one, but because the fights aren’t even that hard at all.

It wasn’t on her portrait or any bar when i turn off DMB back then (idk about now)

If you say so.

I don’t tend to trust people’s raid experience without easy to show proof.

Since 99% of the time it’s used to act like a douche e.g. imagine not pulling 50k dps hurt durr etc. I’d say for the same reason they disabled collision, Blizz should probs disable dps meters.

Ever wonder why dps players just pad meters instead of doing mechanics? That’s why.

Up to you, but what reason do I have to lie?
I don’t like any of you, nor do I care what any of you actually think about me since we won’t ever group with one another. Why do you think I post from an alt account? I don’t want anyone trying to harass me in game which has happened before.
Either way, you don’t actually need the combat addons to do raids in this game, although they do improve the raids significantly.

I am not saying you would personally lie. I am not trying to insult you, please don’t take it that way.

The internet has taught me a general “don’t trust anyone making claims”. Especially when those claims are incredibly easy to back up.

No worries.
Never trust anyone on the internet, at the same time, don’t doubt them unless you have proof they’re lying.

If you’re playing DPS you have to remember that you are an expendable peon. There are 10 DPS for every 1 healer/tank, you have way more spec options, and the solo content is all about killing stuff - you should be pretty good at it.

By comparison, healers/tanks have to learn on the job, have more responsibility, and are just all around more valuable. If you suck as a DPS, you should get kicked. There are a bucket full of DPS with a higher ilvl that can play their class to take your spot. So honestly, people telling you that you need to do better is a pretty big kindness. At least you have the opportunity to try and turn things around.

You could argue that, you would be 100% wrong but you could still argue it…

Tanks are faceroll for raids and non mythic+

Being a tank is PITA this week due to Sanguine.

A difference in philosophy. I just don’t believe that anyone is going to be ready to learn until they take that mental step first that leads them to ask how their performance is. Especially if a dungeon/raid is going well and the group is making progress. I could have phrased it better, but “how bad am I” is kind of how I think the question in my head, so I’ll stick by it.

Telling someone they aren’t pulling their weight in a group that’s failing to complete a run is, I think, acceptable and fair.

But if the run is going smoothly, and someone in the group just isn’t doing as well as someone else thinks they should, then it’s best that those opinions be kept silent. Nobody is going to benefit from injecting that drama into a run that’s doing good so far.

Depends entirely on how you do it. In FF14, it’s mostly about how pugs treat each other, not necessarily how organized FCs deal with DPS issues. They look the other way with DPS meters so long as they don’t get reports of abuse. FF14 encounters rarely have RNG associated with them, so it’s really an exercise in just knowing where you need to be in the sequence and when you need to blow cooldowns for specific DPS checks. The way I’ve seen it handled is just “Hey, we need more DPS because we’re not clearing the check or the boss is enraging.”

Tanking is hard because of the expectations people have on you, not saying it’s hard skill wise. In fact, it’s probably too boring, since no one wants to do it.

Healing is the hardest thing to do in WoW by far. You not only have to contend with mechanics, you have to deal with humans with autonomy making mistakes, not grouping up, etc. There is no AFKing/checking out as a healer.

DPS is basically have gear, do your rotation, do the mechanics.

Stopped using recount after Pandaria. I don’t run content that requires it and it makes me less of a jerk. Nobody does recount numbers in basic content anymore, nobody cares. Even in LFR, nobody cares. Half the people die on a boss anyway and it gets taken down regardless.

I understand it for higher end content and raid guilds who know how to handle low dps numbers without resorting to being jerks.

FFXIV is the most popular MMO for a reason. They’ve listened to criticisms from the WoW community and have been able to implement them into their own game.

Healing is probably the easiest role in the game unless you are rolling in M+ or mythic raid enounters where healer damage is critical and you have to balance between optimal damage and party survival. Just like DPS you need to know when everyone is forced to soak. Lots of mediocre healers at best with good anticipation can easily thrive in raids while they couldn’t pvp to save their life.

In LFR if you just do the mechanics, you win. I mean, I’ve seen some pretty pool noodle DPS but, LFR is really just an intelligence test. Yet, somehow people do LFR week after week and still don’t know the fights…

Healing is easy says the hunter

It does end up being harassment in a lot of cases. FF is a game that tries to encourage to play together rather than compete with others.

As someone who plays both tanks and healers, tanking is, in my opinion, infinitely easier.
