Is calling players out for low DPS considered harassment?

Used in WoW, not harassment because the leader of the party has the right to remove you from a group for whatever that reason.

No, it isnt

Definitely not, it’s actually a joke that they have it that way in FFXIV. Nobody expects you to pull impressive numbers, but when you’re doing 10k dps in mythics at this stage of the game, it’s a bit more than frustrating. I would consider the person pulling such low numbers the offender in these cases, as they are clearly focused on watching netflix and just in it for the loot+carry.

You are an above average top player. So is easy for you to say.
Many factors contribute to a low Io score same as of dying, including mostly who you group with.
I mostly play in pugs and my guild is too far ahead of my level of playing to even compete for the best gear, or even join for guild runs that takes the top pick not an average joe like me.

Just like someone I know. I can fire you for any reason… lol…

I mostly run my own keys for completion not time…

Ah yeah, that didn’t come across as I expected. I had included right after that line

(or specially saying XYZ is garbage)

I’ve seen some situations where folks won’t call out exactly who it is because the numbers on the meters do that for them and can still single people out without specifically saying who. Especially when 4/5 of those individuals use damage meters.

It’s just unnecessary and counter-productive to anything is what I was trying to get at.

No, its not related to skill, its related to knowing that most of the time is your fault and what can you change to prevent it, theres 2 kind of players.

Above average player : Crap i died, should’ve used healthstone or a health potion, probably my defensive would’ve saved me, my bad.

Mediocre player: Shut up m8 i didnt get any heals, its not my fault.

Guess what player the majority of the wow community is, you decide who you are.

In some states, that is allowed by law that someone can fire you for any reason. It sucks but that is how the world works these days.

It depends on how you use it. Example would be a teacher saying that you’re not understanding the work and they help you out with it where as another one could be saying you’re not gonna make it in the real world blah blah blah.

If you’re trying to tell someone that their dps is bad and want to help them but they think it’s harassment, you could probably fight that. My suggestion is just let them play the game the way they want to. No matter what they want to be right.

In FF14, people there tend to use the whole " You don’t pay for my sub, so don’t tell me how to play" argument to get away from just not listening or caring. My reply to that is. You are right. We don’t, but you don’t pay for ours and our goal while paying for our subs is to kill this boss correctly so in that case we are removing you from the group.

Right… compassion and empathy out the mind… I get it.

^^^^ This, you can have one just months it to be an insufferable wangrod.

This is why we need to purge the weebs from our game. Vulpera were a mistake.

As a courtesy, it is a good idea for the raid leader to announce to the raid before starting that if the raid has problems progressing, players not pulling their weight in DPS will be kicked from the raid.

That way everyone knows up front what is expected. If someone gets kicked later… well they were warned, but decided to play with the group anyways.

Rofl, no it’s not. That’s like someone who only does LFR saying Mythic is easy.

The only hard thing about FF is dealing with the ridiculous visuals. Makes most adults want to pull their eyeballs out.

I mean you can say the exact same thing for WoW in that regard.

True… true…

At least classic is exempt from the insanity of colors that Retail and FF are plagued by.

No.
