Is AV Zerg really the version blizzard is releasing!?

No, it’s more like you’re asking them to do that, because you’re so concerned with arbitrary consistency when the game isn’t consistent in the first place. Content is changed based on phases, Cenarion Hold is in the game but doesn’t have any of its 1.12 content. It’s meaningless. Die on that hill if you want, nobody’s subscription to this game is contingent upon everything being 1.12 for its own sake.

I’m not asking them for anything, I am perfectly fine with 1.12 AV as per blizzard’s plan.

I would be cool with both versions being offered as a compromise for people like you want original AV.

I consider 20 minutes to be very different from 5 minutes. Even if most games are still a zerg, I prefer the version that makes people work for the zerg over the one that rolls out the carpet for it.

Where are you getting this 5 min thing from? Honestly. Retail?

Nope, from one premade full 40 man raid vs a pug.

I’m not asking for AV release with Naxx either. I’m saying it follows your logic of version consistency, which I don’t prioritize.

Multiple versions of content shouldn’t exist in classic and neither should neutered AV.

Lol I bet! Even still the difference between the 1.5 version and the 1.11 version in terms of how fast games can be is honestly negligible.

But 1.11 AV was in vanilla for longer than original AV.

Okay? Non-empty AV existed for longer than empty AV.

1.12 AV isn’t empty.

If you want to fight NPC’s there are many dungeons and raids that should suit your tastes.

If you hate guards so much why are you playing any AV at all? Or care about the version? Clearly the hybrid style is what made it interesting to people asking for the old one. You have two other BGs with only players, and deathball is bad honor anyway, if you’re so concerned with that.

Old AV was the best expression of Warcraft in vanilla WoW, and Warcraft involved creeps.

And you’re never going to experience it again. Even if they released 1.5

Why do I like AV, because I do like a mix of pve and pvp.

But in a BG i prefer that the slant is to the pvp side which is why i prefer 1.12 AV. If you don’t like zergs, well there’s a pvp solution to that.

Zerg AVs happened in old AV. It still took more effort than in 1.12. You had more recourse against it because you had more NPCs as buffer. Even if 100.00% of games are a zerg, it’s preferable in old AV where it’s more difficult to some degree.

Old AV is still slanted towards PvP. The gaps between NPCs in 1.12 turn them into a true non-factor.

/shrug well i guess that will be a matter of opinion then.

They already have one version on retail. So let the old AV exist on classic. If you want the zerg deathball, play on retail. Yes, reinforcements dont exist in 1.12, but that doesnt really change much. 1.12 AV changed the meta to zerging.

It’s also funny how you mentioned why you wanted 1.12 AV as its more PVP oriented when its the exact opposite. You fight less players in 1.12 AV since every one goes straight to the boss. The guards/commanders actually do their intended jobs of having players fight one another. Funny that eh?

Not only that the whole “we have to use everything 1.12 !!!” is not a good argument because not even blizzard sticks to that. Key rings arent in the game. NAxx isnt out yet. Hell, even the quest Darkreaver Menace is offering its 1.5 quest reward (helm of latent power), not the Skyfury Helm. The honour system was released WITHOUT BGs, and last I checked, the 1.12 honour system included BGs

Old AV will exist on classic. It will be the 1.11 version which despite your fear mongering is not the zerg version.

If you are fighting less players in 1.12 AV it is entirely your own fault.

Yes blizzard is time gating releases of things, they are not however doing progressive releases that change things.

It’s his fault that players are actively and effortlessly dodging each other? Like he said, more NPCs force more engagement. The NPCs themselves were never walls, they were stoplights, while 1.12 is the autobahn.

So make yourself the stoplight.

It only takes a handful of players on either side to break a zerg.

A handful of players does not stop a bigger group of players. A handful of players WITH some guards/elites is a different story.
