Ion said No more focus on faction war, which pretty much means its over?

Nah, that’s what Allied Races should have been. Grimtotem Tauren for Alliance, Defias Humans for Horde, etc.

That would have put the whole “I want to play Race X but on Faction Y” thing to bed forever.

Blizzard really screwed up by not doing that.

Oh, except for Alliance with High Elves, because they totally did implement it that way. But that’s Blizzard for you.

Dude is either rather stressed or trolling. His comment about repeating the same thing over and over and ignorance is legit a mirror to what he is doing. I feel kind of bad for him. Hopefully he will be okay.

Whom are you referring to? Sorry I’m a bit confused.

I suggested something like that years ago, but players kept saying they can’t balance two factions how they going to balance three. I just figured if they can’t balance two a third isn’t going to make it worse imo.

EDIT: I would be on the third for sure. I don’t feel like my faction is the same one I joined so many years ago and I do not want to join the Alliance if given the opportunity to switch.

I decided to level an Alliance character with my partner and it was weird. I played Alliance long long ago but everything felt so fresh and new. Unfortunately, the bitter reality soon hit me that the rest of my characters are Horde and this character might as well not exists to them.

I know it’s a stretch but I’d really like to walk my Forsaken into Stormwind some day. Maybe after a long rep grind or something.

That would be Brock.

Only one of us is ignoring the argument and cowering behind logical fallacies. umadbro?

Cause I’m not. Weakness and ignorance doesn’t anger anyone.

Naw “bro”. I am chilling on my boat right now, enjoying a nice Mai Tai. Browsing the forums and helping some guildies level characters via dungeons. I am totally good  Hope you have a better day.

Deleted previous to fix reply to correct person <3

I hope you’ll let me be the first to welcome you to Stormwind with a shouted “ZOMBIE!”

I fully expect a proper Death Knight introduction to your city :relieved:

Since technically it is made up of all the same characters with no new classes or anything like that I can not think of any major balancing issues tbh. I could be wrong as I have not thought about it long. They could queue up for either faction PvP or dungeons would be whatever side needed players the most. IDK feels like a good lore spot to drop in.

Good for you! I’m chillin’ too! Despite your odd claims, all I’ve asked for was a rebuttal. Instead, you changed the subject.

Which is all you can do if you can’t admit you’re wrong. And if you can’t refute an argument, while you don’t HAVE to admit you’re wrong… it’s kind of an obvious thing. Especially when, instead of posting a rebuttal, all your do is post a non-sequitur. lol

But enjoy your drinks! I’m just sorting mats on alts preparing for DF.

Lot’s of people including me have posted valid counter arguments. You just consider them not valid. Which is okay. When people discuss or debate there does not have to be a winner. That is a big problem with society today. People have different feelings and opinions on subjects. Something that is valid to one person may be hard to understand for another. I have acknowledged your feelings, providing a counter argument and my feelings on the subject but you continue just to say that others are wrong for their feelings on the subject. That is invalidating others opinions on a subject.

When people start to reach that level there is no reason to continue debate. No one is saying that their wrong they have just chosen to stop the discussion with someone who is not open to opinions beyond theirs. You do not win a debate, discussion, or argument when people choose to stop it with you. Generally it is in fact the opposite.

I hope your rally cries are heard from the rooftops, just as much as those who do not agree with you.

Joke’s on you, I don’t have any friends. Seriously though, we used to all be horde back when they played, I’m the last one left and now I play the race I want. New or returning players would probably be more likely to roll on the faction their friend is in if they wanted to play together.

Gee I sure hope so, they ran out of faction war ideas back in wrath. Now it’s just a joke that stopped being funny ages ago.

When you say 2+2=5
And I then provide evidence that 2+2 =4…
And then you say “well, some of us prefer to think that 2+2=5.”

That’s not a rebuttal. I consider what you’ve posted as “not valid”, because it’s not. My post proves that. Your argument fails at the MOST BASIC LEVEL.

Your logic is what’s called a “syllogism.” I’ll give you an example:

You’re familiar with sparrows, blue-jays, hawks, eagles … a great many number of birds. You then say to me “all birds can fly.”

To which I then say: but what about the ostrich? Or the penguin?

You then say “all birds can fly.”

I say “But ostriches are birds. Penguins are birds. And they don’t fly.”

You then say “umadbro? All birds can fly.”

That’s where we’re at now.

I’m GLAD all your friends play on Horde (or that, for others, all their friends play Alliance). That DOESN’T ENCOMPASS THE ARGUMENT.

The argument is that it is possible/probable/ very common for people to have friends that play different factions. And THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY TOGETHER.

To which you keep parroting: but all my friends play the same faction.

Your position is invalid because you’re ignoring WHY you’re wrong. What you keep saying is: If everyone just plays the same faction, there is no problem!!

It also doesn’t help that, instead of refuting the argument, you prefer to just change the subject. Like the reason we should have factions… is because I use italic and bold fonts.

Do you… do you REALLY think that’s how you prove a point?? lol

Yeah, your feelings are invalid. The faction system is antiquated and adds literally nothing of value to the game. There is no reason for it to exist. They tried to reinvigorate it in BFA but all it did was increase the polarization. Your best argument comes down to “well, I like it so it should stay” which is exclusive with the vast majority of players who want restrictions removed.

Luckily, blizzard has finally realized the faction system is foolish and cross faction economies and groups are already here. Guilds are coming soon.

I would say MoP focused on the faction war or at least the most we’ve seen. Every patch had fighting and story about the two clashing, culminating in both a Horde civil war and an invasion by the Alliance. There was Krasarang, two added battlegrounds, and Thunder Isle. Only time it really fell off was the last 3 zones of the leveling experience.

War is over, if you want it.

The faction war is never over but people don’t realize the ideals are changing. It isn’t “Orcs vs Humans” but more about ideologies than being outright xenophobic. We still have unmet enemies and Turalyon is likely going to be involved in a potential crusade, and for all we know, that may be the case.
