I pay money to play a game also. I and many others like it the way it is, does that make our feelings invalid? You are asking people to respect your thoughts while not respecting theirs. A very interesting way to handle a discussion.
That Blizzard had to put in (limited) cross-faction play because Alliance players were screaming from the rooftops that “nobody will play Alliance” says otherwise.
She normally does play horde for me. She is playing horde again this xpac. We are taking our turns. I did not even have to ask really. Hey mom me and the g/f and kiddos will be on the Horde this xpac and she fired up her horde toons minutes later. Her sisters will be joining her on the horde this xpac also (most of them play ally).
Can you play the game the way you want it? Segregated, as Faction-specific? Yep.
Can others who don’t care? Who don’t want to wait in a queue if it means a player from the other faction can fill a slot?
No.
So… one of us is arguing for a unilateral means of play. But it isn’t me. You’re just proving you don’t understand this discussion at the MOST BASIC LEVEL.
Only took them 2 forced faction war attempts to realize this. Guess that’s a fair sample size…kinda annoying to play through them, though (I skipped BFA till prepatch, I suppose.)
I mean it was called “Warcraft.” When you add “world” to it, it means encompassing the world in which said warcraft exists. I also recall fighting random mobs in WC3 which didn’t have a faction, so I feel your definition of “warcraft” is too narrow.
Brewa, stop coming to me with this all the time. We both know how things went down during BfA, how much you reveled in the misery of the Alliance-players and now try to blame them for not enjoying the game and the issues they faced, which was not only a self-fulfilled prophecy but also our fault as Horde-players in dominating a game so much, that it literally forced the developers to open up the game.
Sounds great! Don’t forget, since a while you can trade stuff between A/H characters if they are on the same servers!
We can agree to disagree. I read your post and replies very different than you must read them in your head. That is okay cause we are different people. That seems to be the concept you are not grasping.
I am saying that I like the faction split and the unique story and elements to the different factions. I align myself to the feelings and story of the Horde. I was also stating that real life relationships should be stronger and better than a faction split in a game. If you have a friend or family member that wants to play with you than do that.
I play games with my kids that have made me want to scoop my eyes out. I have played countless hours of minecraft between my 3 kids because they asked me to. I can not stand the gameplay in the game, its not for me. What is worth it though is my relationship and those memories and times we spend together.
Yeah there are a couple tricks to getting stuff back and fourth. Considering I have played since early 2004 in beta phase 2 I have more than enough necessities on either side. I do appreciate the advice, you are seen.
What you didn’t read/refuse to read/don’t understand, even though I say it every time I discuss this topic…
Is that the FACTIONS … ARE NOT GOING AWAY.
Only the Faction BARRIER is going away.
Think of EVERRRYYYYTHINNGGG you’ve done for the last 18 years and ABSOLUTELY NONE OF IT CHANGING!!!
Except that if you’re short a person for a dungeon, or on raid night, you can now play with someone from other Faction. Or if your bff wants to play a diff faction… NOW YOU CAN.
That’s ALLLLLL that’s changing.
There will always be an Alliance. Always be a Horde. Always be a stupid, absolutely sophomoric story about contrived NONSENSE. That part WILL NEVER CHANGE. (for better or worse).
We’ll just be able to PLAY WITH OUR FRIENDS. That people who PAY FOR A GAME … can PLAY TOGETHER.
You can play with your friends. I do. Others do. You are arguing for something that can already be done. I will go ahead and stop here. It sounds like you need a breather. Your stress levels appear very high. Perhaps some meditation or reaching out to one of your friends or family. Mental health struggles can be a very serious issue and getting this upset over a game is not a sign of positive mental health.
I hope you get the balance and care you need friend.
I used to want the faction war again, but BFA was a letdown. Shadowlands took us away from Azeroth and now so does Dragonflight. All I just want now is to group up with other players, regardless of faction, and kick the crap out of enemies.
As much as I use to enjoy Orgrimmar it isn’t the same anymore and feels different. My Horde is gone. So, I say let’s get rid of all the faction capitals and build a unified capital in the middle of each continent that we all share. Could even have it separated into racial districts or something if they need that little bit of conflict to drive some things.
I could see a third faction of rebels or outcasts that you could join that would be a mixing of the races. Give it is own capitol city. Let them freely traverse between the cities but have a disliked/untrusted feeling in the opposite faction cites. Make a questline to go rogue or whatever. Upsides of being able to play with whomever but being generally mistrusted or disliked by the current factions.
