Unsubscribe from twitch, cancel all your notifications, rip your internet cord out of the wall until Shadowlands. You’re buying into a false narrative.
So you are pessimistic just for the sake of being toxic and just rooting for the game to fail Or you are an NPC repeating the “Don’t ask questions just consume product and get excited for the next product” line.
There is no middle ground or reasonable discussion just 2 sides at war.

not sure what your definition of hard is but clicking a couple buttons and paying a bit of cash isnt as hard as a month long grind to gain rep for a new faction.
Probably because we don’t want to deal with this for half the xpac before it becomes semi tolerable ala azerite.

The most amusing thing is that he seems adamant against min-maxing but he was the GM of Elitist Jerks, the guys who made the whole min/maxing meta “do what someone else told you is the best” mainstream.
So the fact he’s suddenly against it is just odd because he should know better.

He still is GM.
He is though. His class gets 4 new abilities 8 if you count signatures. He is only allowed to choose 2 of the 8 if he wants to try a different set of 2 that’s easy if he wants to go back though it’s a massive grind. That is being forced to choose rp or gameplay.

You are right, the game aside from those things currently do not have any meaning to them. Everything is just buttons you press which can be changed at a whim. I was talking about life to try and show you where those types of choices create value. Because there is very little things to draw lines to show you in game.
Not here to argue exact numbers, but provide me sources, please. I haven’t tested beta nor alpha so I can’t have much of a say in it either. I do however believe these forums aren’t anywhere near the majority.

People are still salty about BFA, that’s what it comes down to. They want to feel righteous angry towards Blizzard. They want to find something to be angry about to direct their emotions towards. Otherwise they’d simply have to confront the fact that they’re getting overly emotional about a video game, and they don’t want to do it. So they need to feel like their rage is going towards something. If Blizzard actually fixes the game and they’re still angry, then what will happen to them as people?

“Plays the game” is a bit off. No offense to the guy - but the healers in my guild really questioned what he was actually doing in his raids, aside from being mostly carried. And being carried isn’t really playing the game.

The point of the game is to have fun with friends. That’s literally the point of an mmorpg. To create a character make friends and have fun with them. Those are the choices that should matter who you decide to play with and what you do. How you beat mythic nzoth how you clear wailing caverns for the first time and everything inbetween. Just because the dungeon finder was added which was kind of a mistake imo doesn’t change this. The choice you make that matter the most in an mmo should absolutely be social ones. If you aren’t making this kind of choices then I guess I can see why you need blizzard to foster a false choice on you.
You can do it all on one character if you want. It’ll be like prestiging. And you can have 4 alts to do all of the covenants if you want too. Which is better since there are 4 types of armor and you have multiple incentives to try it out on alts.

I have fully supported taking class abilities out of covenants and making them as talents since before made his vid about the venthyr base ability. Covenants should be solely a cosmetic aspect that reflects my rp choice not my game play choice.
I play another game and choose a specific skin . That is a reflection of my rp choice of that game and not my gameplay choice. Neither has a bearing on the other.
It should be the same for WoW . My rp choice should not affect how I do the game play aspect.
Last I checked they were all grey and green and not even by ilvl.

Intelligence is not picking one thing and then never having to think again. That is simplicity in its finest form. It kills creativity.
Being able to swap and think about what choices can empower you for the content you are doing. The second free choice is what gives you the freedom to be creative. Which requires a lot more brain power than selecting and forgetting.
