Ion Hazzikostas has confirmed the fall back plan is to open up covenants

Honestly, I don’t know how anyone can watch the interview with preach and not see how Ion is absolutely not fit for lead dev.

Being out of touch sounds like assigning all of the game’s problems to one dev part of the same guild for a long time (very unexpected wow)

Astrius! It’s been hot as hell in here for some time now, I swear I saw a rack of pitchforks and torches by the front door of Gen Discussion.

Just saying hey, don’t let the trolls get you down and stay safe my friend! :mask:

You sure are spending a lot of time defending Ion with no valid points.

As much as the opposition.

Ion knows this current Covenant system is bad, they have created a problem so they can sell us a solution in the future.

This isn’t new… almost every gaming company does this.

Personally i think Covenants should be a permanent choice that you can NEVER change, not even via a long difficult quest. HOWEVER i believe Covenants should be cosmetic only, all abilities, soulbinds, and player payer should be identical across the Covenants.

I agree with Ion about making that classic RPG choice, but i think cosmetics is enough to make that choice meaningful, you don’t need player power locked behind it as well.

Good thing I didn’t do that right?

Oh sorry,

Watcher good!

All you’ve done so far is quote parts of posts and add your one sentence hot take.

I actually disagree with that. I think at this point in WoW’s history it is unreasonable given the dev’s recent actions. We think it’s a fiasco, but they could for some reason think it was a good idea. But they’re delusional.

It is close to unreasonable at this point to think that the game will no longer have convoluted power grinds that lock you in to a certain style of play that can be right or wrong, just like Legion Artifacts and Legendaries, this is Blizzard’s new WoW.

The game isn’t changing from this style, and we either have to get used to it or just play something else.

And there are already threads where people complain even about the aesthetic choice being locked.

Well if that’s the case, he’s gonna wig out one day like the guy that got fired. I don’t envy the position he’s in. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Better than making an entire thread about how a backup system is a bad idea.

Yeah people definitely haven’t given them multiple reasons why this is a bad system there hasnt been tons of threads on the forums and many youtube videos made on why its a crap idea. they are intentionaly ignoring feedback and pushing forward with it. they 100% know its going to fail.

Since I don’t do high end content, I really don’t care one way or another. However, are you sure he’s so out of touch? Are you sure that you and the others aren’t just the vocal minority?

Thats the problem, you’re the only person here who can’t see how the backup plan is an infinitely better system that they are suggesting.

I want the backup plan now.

I’m sure you’re the most qualified person to judge this, especially hearing from the people who made both.

Im sad also. They really dont care what players think and I think they are not being honest with us

Covenants don’t only impact the high end.

Ill be honest, I don’t really care about this. I am gonna RP in my covenant. It has to fit my head cannon. The extra spells/buffs ect. are just icing on the cake.

I am too old to worry about this stuff
