Ion Hazzikostas has confirmed the fall back plan is to open up covenants

Ya that is so dumb. Like really? Having a backup plan means they know it is going to fail? Like wtf, they just looking at all the changes they made and say well this is new, but if it does not work we know what to do ahead of time.

That is a good thing, and now some of you want to act like they know it will fail?

Even if it gets changed later down the road. Having a system that punish players who want to min/max every single thing, and just how toxic the community can be when it comes to inviting players and getting players into harder content. Anything that makes them just a tad bit upset, is a good thing.

Preach asks a question:
Ion proceeds to completely talk in circles and not give an answer.

It was absolutely a train wreck in terms of the devs being out of touch with their own game.

A staggering disconnect, It actually makes my head spin how out of touch Ion is.

They would be stupid to not have a backup plan for it, just look at the hoops they had to jump thru with BFA. Them having one doesn’t mean they expect it to fail, it just means that if their completely new system doesn’t go as intended they won’t have to spend the next several months trying to fix it. They will be ready the second it nose dives.

you’re right. instead they shouldn’t consider the possibility at all and therefore they should have NO back-up plan.

Think this is more of a planned obsolesce thing.

Keep them grinding until they get sick of it and then loosen it up.

They build the system they want. Then they add in artificial restrictions and grinds to keep us treading water for while, then they take them out.

It won’t be until 9.3 or whenever the expansion is basically over.

Just looking at Ion you can see his arrogance (not confidence) and know that he thinks that he is the smartest person in the room, any room, no matter who is in it.

As long as Ion is the director of WoW, WoW will always be this bad.

That entire interview was the biggest waste of time, he didn’t answer a single one of the biggest concerns outside of saying “Well we can make the switch one day if it fails”
it’s an impossible task to get close to right

What are you expecting at this point? Like honestly dude.

The game has been completely different since 2016 and this style of WoW isn’t going anywhere. Stop hoping for the game to go back to the way we want it, it’s not going to happen.

You’re disappointed because you create this false sense of reality that Ion will magically tell you they are lifting all restrictions. I know they’re out of touch, and I know they do things that are awful, but that doesn’t mean I expect them to change at this point.

Stop wanting them to change, you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Maybe ion is so out of touch because he’s simply following orders from his boss so he can keep a job?

Like, maybe he feels one way, but can’t say much to it because it would cost him his job, so he does what he needs to do to keep his employment.

Am I alone in thinking like this?

Go play something else, that’s how.

watcher dev bad

I just want the class abilities taken out of the covenants and made talents.

Player agency should be being able to choose how you want to play depending on the content you are doing at any given time. Player agency should not be about being forced to choose if you want game play or RP .

We should be able to have both. I rp as a orc in the game . I game play as a hunter. My choice of race or what ever clique (covenant ) i choose should not have any bearing on my game play . It should only reflect my rp choice.

It’s not unreasonable to believe that the devs might possibly change their mind about a system receiving a ton of negative feedback after the fiasco that was BFA.

I haven’t read a lot about covenants, but what is wrong with them?

So, maybe he is, maybe he isn’t - but how do any of us know we can channel the combined (and consensus) will of all 1-3 million players?

Idk what that means

Ion plays the game. Thing is, he has been playing with the same guild for 15 years.

He doesn’t have to worry about a lot of things you and I do.

Ion is completely out of touch.
