Ion Hazzikostas has confirmed the fall back plan is to open up covenants

could be.
The former might indicate ignorance or innocence, however, the latter two are most likely with deliberate petulance.

Preach is the one who’s out of touch, a streamers experience is nothing like that of the normal everyday WoW player.

I guess it went out the window when they put restrictions on their systems, which having free player agency over would be enjoyable to many of us.

The normal everyday wow player is going to see someone else of their class do something cool like the kyrian spear and go I want to do that. Then they are going to realize they are vampy boys for the mog and if they want to play with the spear they need to lose their mog and their former allies and even the dumb party and their cool tp. Then they are going to get annoyed.

Depends on what you was expecting him to do to “pin him to the mat” There is such thing called professional courtesy. If twitch streamers ever want people to view them as a legitimate media outlet for games they need to follow at least that. Otherwise it’ll just be seen as a place to watch people being outraged.

If you actually watched the interview before running your mouth, you’d know he touched on what’s going to happen to normal players.

When someone makes this argument, they throw out all credibility. There’s literally a teleport essence in the game right now and no one uses it. This idea that utility can never be beaten by performance is an outright lie. All it takes is one Covenant having a stronger performance-boosting soul-bind passive or some big DPS boosting active to tip the scales.

Death Knights will love the Door of Shadows but for many classes it won’t be the primary decision point.

What a curious piece of fiction we see here.

Understandable to be honest given how bad BFA actually was. I don’t think anyone can properly deny that. I was a bit salty after WoD myself, because all I did the entire expansion basically was sit in my Garrison, look for BRF and HFC groups, and run Tempest Keep and other old raids for mounts.

That being said, I still really don’t like how unnecessarily negative people feel they need to be. Giving criticism and feedback is fine as always, but every thread like this I eventually see “Ion is so out of touch with the game” and “do the devs even play the game?” etc. There are sometimes flat out conspiracy theories. That’s not to say this stuff doesn’t happen in other gaming communities, but having come over recently from the official forums of another MMO, which I will add has a very toxic community to it on said forums, somehow is made to look like child’s play when I visit the WoW general discussion forums for literally 5 minutes.

Trying to be as reasonable and inoffensive as I can with this, but I’m almost convinced most people on these forums are actual children who don’t know how to handle their emotions.

What about it is fiction?

You are hyperventilating to the extent that nothing you have said in that post makes any sense.

Seriously. Let’s make up really big or really tiny numbers. There! Point is proven!

Well yeah but it required you to choose that essence over BIS damage essence which sucked. When we compare covenant base abilities…venthry destroys the rest, ardenweald might as well just be deleted because it’s useless in any form of content except maybe maw zone.

I mean if they want BIS MIN/MAX builds in each type of content there ocd is going to bother them so much. But I think it’s ok that the game devs don’t design around that. If they make things doable without needing to be x covenant and not so difficult without x covenant then it will be ok. If it is seen as mandatory to be a covenant that will get annoying. People are scared of there peers and social demands they will have of you to be x covenant. Also they are worried about a covenant being nerfed all of a sudden. It is nice to worry but I think it’s healthy to remember it’s a game. We all don’t need to be the strongest in every situation.

Okay thanks for your feedback.

THing is people think it is only the high end players that want to have bis and min/max.

Even your casual players like to have their bis and min /max for the content they do .

Like I said I am a random bg lfr hero and I like to try for the bis for the content I do and like to min/max . I also do it because there are times I like to push myself farther .

You aren’t comparing Covenant base abilities bro. That’s not how it works.

You are imagining they are a talent row. THEY ARE NOT A TALENT ROW.

You must choose to get Venthyr Class Ability, Venthyr Base Ability, and all the Venthyr Soul-binds. This means to sacrifice the Night Fae Class Ability, Night Fae Base Ability, and Night Fae Soul-binds. If Night Fae has a better class ability and better soul-binds, you’re choosing a teleport essence over your BIS DPS essence.

It’s the same situation bro.

I’m sorry but WoW is not a rpg like Mass Effect or the Witcher. No choice you as a player makes will ever impact the world in any way. There is no meaningful choice with covenants.

Venthyr has very good soulbinds still, a hard thing to pass up.

They’re okay. Mage isn’t going to go Venthyr that’s for sure. I don’t recall all the “BIS” Covenants for raiding but it absolutely is not just Venthyr across the board, that’s totally wrong.

Mage isn’t good with Venthyr? Damn. I wanted that juicy Kael’thas development. Oh well, I can always pick Venthyr at the start and then switch later when I want to start doing M+ or raids.
