Not to mention 15s are super easy now. Back at the beginning of the season yeah, if you didnt have the things you needed you wouldnt get in.
That’s true, though I only compared WW monk with DH because of ability overlap. Ranged sap, aoe stun, etc.
I really hope there is no covenant left in the dust though. Those examples are definitely a possible worst case scenario of how it can all go. Though only 4 options, hopefully won’t be any considered horrible.

Can’t wait for groups that have been waiting 30 minutes for a tank for mythic turn down a tank because they’re not Venthyr. Unless your pushing Mythic+ in highest levels or you’re doing MDI with 3 of the same dps class having a teleport isn’t going to mess up your timers.

Yeah but if you have a rouge then you can shroud then invis a pack and teleport another blah blah blah.

His thought process is that since Covenant choice is a semi-permanent decision, like picking a class, that people will be more lenient on having something that’s sub-optimal since it’s not easily swapped.
His entire argument goes right out the window when you see people getting declined from groups left and right solely based off of their class choice.

It will happen. But not until either the late mid or tail end of Shadowlands. At first everyone will be trying to figure out the best gear/covenant combos and once people settle into a routine that is when declines will start happening.
But you still need to hit your trash limit lol.
Like in Waycrest I can’t ever skip anything, I have to go pull EXTRA to hit trash amounts.

You found groups already willing to accept a shaman though. I am not knocking shamans or you but I think the point is that people looking for that all so powerful “meta” don’t take shamans so why is it so hard to believe if one covenant works out to even 10% more dps overall in a dungeon I assure you people will want to pick the best one.
Right now If I invite a 480 mage to my group I inspect them immediately. If they only have like 3-4 masterfuls I find another mage.
I am by no means running top groups but when I do PuG someone you can be assured I want the best and it’s no different for anyone else running higher M+ groups

Ive waited 30 minutes in plenty of groups and turned down tanks for various reason. When youre doing 15s and 90% of the player base is still doing 10s you have to wait.

Same here, I’ve also done hundreds of dungeons on multiple characters. Players are looking at item level and IO score, they only want to know how experienced you are.
I’m sure people will be rejected because of their covenant choice, if it wasn’t covenants, the minmaxers would find something else. They’ve been doing this since classic. There will also be people who come to GD and exaggerate how often they are rejected/kicked.

most groups ive been in, seem to have a very specific path they want to run. some are somewhat different that others, but most are very similar. there will be non-venthyr groups, but if SL is anything like M+ has been over its history, Venthyr groups will want to skip packs.

Yeah, some dungeons are like that. We always skip the basement before going down the stairs because we pull everything upstairs. Kings rest is almost always kill everything because there is only enough trash to hit the limit. But other dungeons skipping stuff is the way to go. If you just want to run kings rest or waycrest you may be fine but if you cant skip the pack before the poison boss in atal you will be out of luck.

I can’t think of a single dungeon where you can’t skip anything because of percentage reasons.
The only one i can really think of is KR but you skip the guy in the middle most of the time.
oh, and the last pack since pillars.
I always end up having to pull extra in Waycrest, and we don’t skip anything.
Hell, I never skip anything, I’m anti-skip.

If you’re a rouge, all you need to do is make sure the skirt is short to show of the overpowdered legs.

Agreed. If you’re doing higher mythic runs and tanks aren’t up to spec it makes sense to wait. What I’m saying is if you’re running a +15 and you have a non-Venthyr tank with a higher Raider. io than your run of the mill +15 tank you’re probably not going to turn that tank down because you’re probably comfortable knowing that teleporting past trash mobs every X minutes isn’t going to mess up your run.

The DPS margin wont be that much. I believe if I pick the Covenant with the lowest DPS on my Class, I would still be able to do AoTC or M+15. I am not competing on World First. I would just chill.
This is the same in BFA where the Top Mythic people is telling us to do PvP for its Essence which is BiS for PvE. And the noob cried that they were forced to PvP to do PvE. This is what I told them. I would beat PvE without doing PvP. I am now AoTC, beaten 5-Masked Org and SW and soon to beat M+15, now at M+14… all on Dungeon Finder as Casual (very limited play time not noob). I never cried the Sky is Falling.
