I don’t really care about blue eyes, I just want the vampire elf
Let me tell you something Pattymaker McShonky.
A suggestion to remove Blood Elves is a literal suggestion to be Alliance
Without us you’d not have the numbers to survive an Alliance invasion, and you’d be spit polishing Anduins boots for your new profession in Shadowlands.
No blue eyes? Alright. That’s OK. If Ion says no, Ion says no. ¯ \ _ (ツ) _ / ¯
I can swing green or gold. Maybe white eyes if we’re lucky. =)
Wait, what you wanna do with tentacles?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Cut them off and burn them any time they grow back, naturally.
Congratulations! Now I feel a little bit better
Do you see … High elves belong to the Alliance …
Their yours if you can play em. =)
What’s gonna be funny following this, is that when people ask for blue eyed for blood elves, the helf crowd is gonna be like “Sorry not sorry, Ion said no”, but then continue to disregard the fact that Ion said no to high elves 3 times already in recent history.
That’s ok, they were already accusing us of all kinds of rude things and taking our request as some kind of direct threat.
I never ever thought the two topics were related…they were the ones who made our request into some agenda to destroy their happiness.
plus this will come around to us again when the same things happens to void elves in 4 years. “omg wheres my blood elf skin tone” what goes around comes around as they say
Thing is, they are open to the possibility of adding lighter skin tones to void elves.
Honestly I agree with that, it just seems that the issue is that whatever blue eyed blood elves are, they are outliers and not representative of the BE’s as a race, much like any race has outliers. Possible, but not common.
I mean personally I believe the reason is an aesthetic one and it’s because green is part of the aesthetic BE identity and then justified by lore. Getting green eyes and becoming edgier is how they moved past from being generic fantasy elves, so I get why that would be a concern, it’s what identifies them as an evolution from their previous HE incarnation, as something more meaningful and lasting that “we temporarily got green eyes and that was about it”
IMO it’s a signifier that Blood Elves as a group (socioculturally, ideologically) is just not the exact same than what High Elves were before the third war.
And I really feel a lot of people that wanted blue eyes for BE’s only wanted the idea of “being the same as they were” discounting the crucible the BE’s went through.
I like how hes like “blue eyes on Blood Elves don’t make sense”.
And then goes and adds dark brown skin tones to them…

I need to watch this interview. I am seeing quotes that he says blood elves with blue eyes makes no sense. And I need to know if he actually said that or its paraphrased.
Since highelves that rejoined the blood elves and keep the name and national pride can exist it is lore plausible. Although I understand the playable characters are from silvermoon. Blizzard picks and chooses arbitrarily what is allowed. For example Gilnean Dks are actually from silverpine and goblin dks are not bilgewater cartel goblins.
So once again people take the trash datamines and panic with them.
He actually said that.
How does darkskinned Belves not make sense?
How does it make sense?
If it’s because of the sun or sunwell or something why isn’t the entire race dark skinned?
They’re as pale as a ghost.
This is kind of interesting news but with that said. I kind of feel bad for those who really wanted to have Blue Eyes for Blood Elves atleast in terms of the Silvermoon High Elf RP or High Elves from Warcraft 3 who were Silvermoon Elves during the Scourge Invasion.
Normally I would be going around mocking those who wanted those Features but now in days after months on end of not caring and of course respecting people’s wishes to have these options. I feel very sorry that Blue Eyes was rejected. I hope Blizzard can turn this thing around and well actually give both sides equal. Void Elf Options and Blood Elf Options of High Elf Customization Options.
