IO Gatekeeping is Getting Out of Hand

I heard that they were trying to break it. So it probably won’t be around much longer.

lol yea goodluck w/ that. And FYI just because they break io doesn’t mean bad player gets a magical instant invite button.

Yeah no they aren’t because it reduces ticket volume drastically and means blizz doesn’t have to make their own tool. Last time they “got rid of something” they literally incorporated it in to the game.

Your CE argus has nothing to do with your experience in M+. It does show you know how to play the game, but you dont know how to do those dungeons. If you had 4 slots open one night in you mythic argus raid are you going to pick up 4 people who had CE nighthold becuase they “know how to play the game”? No, you wouldnt because they are going to die on every boss.

Here you go sir.

Play with a guild people, then you don’t have to deal with the raider .io cretins

Because at the +15 level and above, it essentially is.

At that point, almost EVERYONE queuing will be above 470 ilvl. Very few below it. Basically, it’s the point where people are no longer running the content for gear, because they already have 95% of what they can get without waiting on the Weekly Chest for months and months or Mythic Raiding.

Point being, ilvl stops being a measuring tool at that level. Experience is then the ONLY thing that matters.

Raider.io is a measure of experience.

An IO score of 2k is roughly the equivalent of AotC for Mythic+. It means the player has completed All +15s on time.

AotC itself means very little in Mythic+. If you linked it in the first month of the patch, okay, maybe, but you’re linking it like 8 months into the patch and it really doesn’t even prove that you know your class at this stage, let alone the mechanics and strats for high-key dungeon content, which plays out differently than raid content.

And, again, with the whole “8 months” thing. We’re at the tail end of a content lull patch right before a new EXPANSION. Requirements for pugs ALWAYS go up as time goes on. Because it becomes easier to fill groups with those requirements.

At the end of the day, pugs are not there for your personal progression. They’re there for the leader (and the leader’s party, if applicable) to get what they want. Everyone else is just a means to an end. This is how things have always been. Pugs are a selfish endeavor, no matter how many people are involved. It’s why ninja looting was such a problem. It’s why people feel like it’s okay to leave the second they kill the 1 boss they wanted. It’s why people feel okay kicking people after 1 or 2 mistakes or because their DPS is slightly below average despite not wiping to DPS.

Pugs are not there for you.
(general you, not you you)

It’s kind of funny how all these threads are the same. “I didnt get invited to a +15 so raider IO is bad.”. Then everyone comes along and says how easy 15s are and anyone can do them(all of which dont have 15s timed or are on alts not showing what they have timed). If they are so easy, then they should be easy enough to build up your own key, problem solved. A sixteen isnt much harder to time than a 15 and if you get a 17 and dont even time it you have your 15 for this week and a 16 the week after and a 15 the week after that automatically.

Wow, someone actually said that? Can you show me a post of that so I can question the person?

I agree, if they break rio, something else will show up. My ignore list is reserved for blacklisting people that make it past the rio system but it’s typically ez via wowprogress armory and other ways to tell whether or not someone is competent. Previous mythic raid exp and or the wowprogress scoring system could be used again if rio was broken, blizzard is lazy though they don’t have enough time spent on the expansions and they barely update anything in game so I highly doubt they’d be willing to invent their own tool, heck it took them like 15 years to update the auction house.

Bad players will always be avoided when good players want to clear content efficiently, which is why they should bee motivated to get good for a lack of a better term to get on the level you want to be at.

See the OP.

Tbh I do one 17-18 a week instead of a 15 just because it isn’t much more difficult than a 15 but I don’t care about pushing either. But yes 15s are a joke especially this late with corruption resist, if they’re a struggle for you there’s clearly something wrong on their end.

I read through the OP. I didn’t see him say that. Can you quote it? I must be missing it or may have web browser issues.

It’s paraphrasing and you know it. He thinks raider io is ridiculous because he cant get invited to a +15 with a 1600 score.

That seems a little extreme for paraphrasing. Paraphrasing is putting things into your own words, not changing it around completely. If you were to say “I do not like LFR” I can paraphrase it to “I am discontent with LFR”. I cannot paraphrase it as “LFR should be deleted because people who play it are incapable of doing anything right”. That’s reaching.

Agreed, delete LFR.

The M+ PuG scene is full of flaming lobsters. Go with friends for the best results!

I saw you say something like this once. Did you have a bad experience with it?

Once?

More like everytime I go into one.
