IO Gatekeeping is Getting Out of Hand

Debatable. Some bosses like Mythic Skitra are a walk in the park/free kill. Others like Mythic Maut are a massive DPS check and imo can be tougher than alot of M+ dungeons.

I mean the only way I could see IO being removed is if Blizzard had its own system which showed the boss kills of the current tier and difficulty cleared and your best M+ clears for dungeons that linked directly to the armory.

Oh you don’t need to break up links. Just do ` before and after the link.

For example Pizza it won’t prevent you from posting the link so you don’t need to break it up with spaces.

And the whole “just push your own key” argument is great. I agree. But reality isn’t so simple. Most good players don’t want to do keys lower than 15 so on top of having to wait forever you often don’t get to choose players who show even the bare minimum amount of capability and end up depleting the key. I’m not convinced that people saying “push your own key” as if it’s the easiest thing in the world have actually tried puging up their score late in a season when people are already farming 15-20s

So… you want those good players to take a chance on you, but you don’t want to take a chance on others?

This is really a big part of what these io debates boil down to.

Players don’t want to play with others of their own experience level. They want to play with others of far more advanced experience.

your right i dont pug my own keys. I have a group of friends or guildmates that I have built up over the years that i do them with. there is usually 4 of us, so we usually need a 5th we pug. Now my friends seem to always pick the lowest ilvl that ques who usually ends up dying to stupid mechanics that are easily dodgeable…but we usually do 2-3 dungeons with them before spliting up

I do pug other keys, +2-+9 but most of those aren’t bad.

I’ve been playing super casually since I resubbed and working my way up the keys for a couple months. If I can slowly work my way up, someone incredibly lazy, I’m sure just about anyone with a decent amount of motivation could easily work up the charts.

Personally I just think you are making lame excuses.

There is a difference between me, who has 1600 score and several other pieces of evidence that I’m not a complete fool, applying to 15s and a guy with 500 io and no timed 10+s applying to a 13. C’mon now

As I pointed out in an earlier post. And I can give examples.

So I just finished leveling a fresh warlock got some gear etc, did a M0 for a key and I’m 430 ilvl. So its a +2 Freehold key and I get 7 470+ ilvl tanks and dps. Each one has a buddy who is around 380 ilvl.

Alot of people have a friend/guildie with them who want to do low level keys to gear their friend/guildie who will carry the whole dungeon.

Though this is alliance side as I mostly play alliance. Horde may be different.

Also some weeks people don’t want Demon Hunters because of affixes. Also you can literally have 30+ dps apply within 20 seconds.

So are you being manually declined OR this group has been de-listed. There is a difference :stuck_out_tongue:

that’s true. and going off of your main’s experience, I would bring you to a 15.

but at the end of the day it’s up to the individual key holder.

Best advice is to push up your own key, then use io to be picky about who you invite.

I’m bored. I’ll help you. /w earrl-tichondrius

I’m a person who creates Pugs a lot and using my own key, in range of 18-20 keys. Believe me, I’m not only checking ios or ilvl, but your runs, realm, corruptions used, why ? Because it increases the chances of a good run. And as other people have stated, yes, experience with players like from Rag/Azralon, they have good players, but the runs I had, 90% have been bad, either the person just not trying or leaving the key, so I have list of realms I avoid.

The reason why so many people ask for higher ios than the key requests is because they CAN, there are a lot of people who are min-maxed and just want to get weekly done, because the push week affixes hasn’t arrived or they are Mythic raiders, and I’m guilty in this regard as well, when I’m bored, I join some +15-16 and 1 dps might as well be afk with the damage I bring.

I dont really understand why io or any shape of form statistics are bad in general, if you get rejected from a lot of Pugs, maybe start your own key and push it or join guild and ask for help, a lot people will gladly help you, but when I see post about raider io being bad or used the way YOU dont want it, its usually people who hardly puts effort and wants to get carried, no offense, but that’s how it is.

Oh and like I said before about joining guild and asking for help, maybe try to make some friends and play with them, they won’t judge you for your io at all and will know about your skills.

Be careful OP for some reason the OI gatekeepers like to flag posts like this when their addon is threatened. :sweat_drops: :sweat_drops:

I mean the only way to kill IO would be to remove the WoW armory pages. Because thats where it gets the data from.

Alot of people simply don’t understand how IO works.

I actually like this idea. The majority of the community would probably QQ about the “attunement” quest line.

People get declined for:

  1. io
  2. ilvl
  3. class
  4. spec
  5. before vendor, corruptions

And you think adding another layer to this by locking covenants will somehow make it easier to get into groups :joy::clown_face:

Why do you care?

You run all your key’s with the same people. LOL

can add:
Name (you bet I decline people with vile names)
Server
after vendor, corruptions

Kicking people over names you don’t like says more about you than them.

I do have a dedicated group, but I also pug. I hate it more for the multitude of other awful factors, but I just hate when people use the excuse “it will make pugging less toxic if you can’t change” because it won’t.

Oh definitely. Btw I’m a heals LF more btags for SL keys. Prob be pushing 20s again S1 if you wanna run some

Absolutely it says you have integrity if you kick someone with a disgusting name?

I’m going for a more appropriate label to toss at them for letting words hurt them.

And I don’t believe I was talking to you.

No one said it will make pugging less toxic.

Point of the post was most people’s excuse for covenants being locked = bad is that people will be declined from a group for having the “wrong” covenant.

Which is a moot point since as you so kindly listed there are MANY factors that will still probably get you declined from a group.

So create your own group and suck it up butter cup.
