IO Gatekeeping is Getting Out of Hand

mattering on the attfix of the week dh may or may not get picked. ones like quake or sang… {the purple goop that heals mobs ans hurts raid people} are prob 2 big ones that may make people no pick you.

as already said, there millions of dps around but not alot of the tanks/healers. think i saw only 10-20% of players are tank/healer, tanks being way under the number of healers, mostly caz tanks need to lead the group by knowing the routes, the skips and what mobs to get for the easy 100% (some packs can be a real pain, others can give real easy %). mabye think of changing to a tank. you’d need to know the dugg first tho…

your gear seems ok, mostly in the m10 or m15 (a few lower, but your prob tryin to get higher stuff for them in the runs your doing now). just think its a mix of higher io people joining the runs your joining.

hell, im a hunter ( apparently a “most wanted class”. never knew that before seeing it talked about here, lol) and i still have a hard time getting in, mostly caz im just started to get into them. as others said, try some 14’s or 16’s. i also smash out a vision for a easily clock upgrade (more corruption = more power) and mabye a better item (been putting it off this week, hate trying to 5 mask sw). could even try some h or even m n’zoth raiding for higher gear

linking this on me is always an instant decline. I dont care what your experience is in legion/vanilla/mop/cata/wolk/bc. I’m looking at experience on current expansion. You know who will never decline you? Yourself! Push your own key until you get enough experience.

If it makes you feel any better, I declined the guy this week who whispered me his 2600 IO score to get into my Heroic N’Zoth group. People who do a lot of M+ often perform poorly relative to their gear in raids. M+ people may have similar reasons to ignore raiding qualifications.

Not quite true. Armory only shows the current information; IO stores and makes available your full history.

You’re making it sound like Blizzard is providing the casino but RaiderIO is determining who gets to play at the high stakes poker table. lol

Pretty much.

I mean they get the data from your armory which is public, so if you banned it people would just check your armory page.

No not always. Alot of times when I’m hosting my own key I will get about 20 dps within 20 seconds. You just happened to be a dps that isn’t at the top of the list, I may find the other dps I need before I even see your name. I could decline you because I already have a Ret pally.

Another reason I may decline you is the server your on, Unless you are a friend I always decline people from Ragnaros and Quel’Thalas for keys higher than a +5. I may also decline you because I already have to many melee/ranged dps OR your class/spec isn’t great for the affixes that week.

Point is IO isn’t the only reason.

Yes the armory shows your current best, but IO is always scanning so thats why it can show your older keys. But most people don’t care/see the older keys because they use the addon.

Better, because you could fake the achievements using a fake achivo addon. Also less of a hassle going to the place to have your gear checked.

Being locked in to one isn’t going to change it either.

Another thing to consider is that io only is used in the pug world.

Join a guild or community. Many will try to get all their active players keys in if they want it.

The best way to not have to worry about IO. Second best way, start your own group.

This is my guild. I’ll be on doing whatever and the invite window will pop up. If it’s not raid night I don’t have to ask what we’re doing, I just have to ask what dungeon am I headed to and what key?

Of course there’s an issue with the score creep as the consistent playerbase goes farther into the expansion and new players try to enter the scene, but I still can’t think of a better measure with which to determine a pug’s capabilities.

There is no gatekeeping in m+. You, being the elite player you are, are free to gather your 4 likewise elite friends, do a mythic dungeon to aquire a key, and then push it all the way to whatever level elite players are currently pushing keys.

have fun not being allowed to play the game because your peers wont let you :stuck_out_tongue:

Just make your own group or spam baby keys already.

and on the flip side, someone with a a decent io still could have been carried. depends on who their friends/guildmates are.

i’m a partial carry. I can do mechanics, but still my DPS sucks. also, i still find myself dead on occasion due to tunnel vision. but then again, my io score is also a bit atrocious.

Sorry, but litteraly nobody in this game cares about your raiding achievements. It has zero relation to mythic+ dungeons. There’s no relevance.

Let me go link my heroic Garrosh kill from 2014…oh wait…

If you are truly not a trash, show me your profile. Dont hide on your alt.

Look at me, I am just Casual (less playing time) and not a trash. I am showing you my main. I perform better than most people of my gear level. But I am not hiding my profile. You, however, looks like a fake.

Perform better than 480s? You shouldnt be whining on getting invited for M+15s.

On me, people who dont invite me for +15s is at their loss. They need me than me needing them. I am confident becoz I carry players at M+15.

For as much time as you complained about IO and getting rejected by groups, you could have built your IO to 2.5k by now.

It’s a sign that the progression system in the game is badly designed when it’s borderline impossible for new/returning players to do the content which is basically required to get the things they need in order to do anything else in the game.

I mean, at this stage of the expansion, 471 ilevel is not too high and I’m absolutely certain a vast majority of the groups you applied to had countless people above that. Then throw in io and yeah, makes sense.

Also, if you’re not an incompetent player, then you should realize that raiding credentials literally mean nothing when it comes mythic plus. You’d realize that just like you need to understand the mechanics in a raid boss fight, you need to understand mechanics in the dungeon, not only boss mechanics, but trash mechanics as well. And if you have not completed many dungeons, as your low IO score suggests, then there is a safe bet that you don’t know a bunch of the dungeon mechanics and potentially a liability. Why would a total stranger take that risk when they can see other people have way more experience than you?

TL;DR Out of hand? LOL, no … working as intended
