According to the sceptics on here, you likely only did Upper Blackrock 2 times, and got the Deathstriker on the first attempt…
If it wasn’t for the few rogues who had one, I’d argue the item didn’t even exist.
Such low drops rates simply kill enthusiasm to PvE for me. It’s the reason I’ve quit wow over 12 times, each time thinking I’ll never come back. I’ve always lamented the PvE treadmill and abysmal drop rates, because back then, by the time you could theoretically get the items you’d be after, you had maybe a few weeks to enjoy them before starting the whole ordeal over again.
I think it’d be far more enjoyable to have either bad luck protection or just loot tokens you can spend on items you want. From an ethical standpoint I’m not a fan of the random reinforcement RNG offers. Random reinforcement is highly addictive, and while it surely boosts engagement, it’s effects on people’s mental health isn’t good.
If (and its a big if) op did in fact run for invincible 2600 times, that sucks. But I’d also say classifying it as a “problem” is more than a little dramatic. It’s a cosmetic. You don’t need it. You want it. Wanting something you can’t have is the problem. Not the drop rate.
People need to take some personal responsibility for recognizing their unhealthy behaviors. If something you are doing is driving you nuts…stop doing it…? Maybe?
Blizzard could change things to improve the experience. But unless you are a child you also shouldn’t be so naïve to think they have our best interest at heart. They want money, and engagement. It’s up to us as individuals to recognize things that aren’t good for us, and take charge of our own behaviors, no one else will.
That said. It does suck. It could be better. But you essentially have just a few options;
- Whine and complain, while continuing to do what makes you miserable.
- Stop doing the thing making you miserable until it changes.
- Examine your desires and make a conscious effort to decide you won’t to do things that you know will make you miserable.
OP also needs to read up on the gambler’s fallacy, cause he’s got a case of that REAL bad.
You can verify if they’ve ran it 2600 because your runs for Heroic ICC are logged on your profile. OP should link all the characters they’ve ran ICC on so we can confirm they’re 1) doing Heroic and 2) not a liar.
Both of you could prove me wrong by posting on, hell one character with around 380 kills.
Because it does not take 2600 or 3800 kills to get a mount that has a 0.5 to 1% drop rate. People logged those kinds of numbers on Sha of Anger (for example) when the drop rate for the serpent was 0.01%.
Plus, your claim and the OP’s claim is extremely easy to prove. Just post on the characters that you farmed H LK on since Cata. You said you did it on 10 characters so those 10 characters will have 300+ kills each under their statistics page.
You refusing to even post on one shows that you’re not being truthful. I’m sure you’re going to go with the cop out “i dOnT wAnT tO bE sTaLkEd” like I have nothing better to do with my time
WoW didn’t keep a kill count on your toons until the beginning of Wrath.
You said you killed H LK 3800 times with 10 characters. You should have a least one character with 380 kills since you said you started in Cata.
Man the OP will freak when they find out I’ve had invincible drop for me 6 times <_<
Had to delete 1 because got it on a back to back week while I was doing Shadowmourne on a allied race Pally (think it was my lightforged Draenie).
Also a good farming tip, make all the allied race characters you dont want to play as but want to achievement for a Plate Class and use them to farm Shadowmourne. The goodies from Shadowmourne are bind on use (except Shadowmourne) and can be sold for a pretty penny on the AH.
That way there when you are on the last stage of farming fragments (and final quest to kill the lich king) you have something to do. And if you finish Shadowmourne and the quest to kill the Lich King and it doesn’t drop well you have like 800k in goodies u can sell on the AH.
you do realize that your trying to get a mount you can see?
Rarity would have been okish if you could sell it.
With it having an stupidly low droprate, tied to a week cooldown (divided by alts, but that takes extra time).
Could almost argue that it’s a predatory design decision to target gambling addicts.
Come on. We all know you don’t have 2600 kills on him.
If I buy 14 000 000 lottery tickets at 2$ with odds at 1/14,000,000 and the reward is 50 000 000. I can make a lot of profit.
I finally gone mine after 2450 attempts. So its your RNG that sucks as bad as mine.
I had 2450 before invincible dropped, so "you all know nothing. "
Bro their are a million other things they need to fix then a crybaby kid who wants a rare mount.
Prove it then.
They increased it because a LOT of people used an oversight in the drop table with dracthyr so anyone who knew got the mount almost 100% and anyone who didn’t were left in the dust, like every other exploits that were in the game and subsequently fixed.
Except this one originated a change.
I’m really tired of people saying things like this.
It does work that way. What the OP said does not imply that the chances are increasing.
You flip a coin once.
I flip a coin 10 times.
If you think we have the same odds of getting at least one “heads” as a result, I really don’t know what to tell you. Your chance is 50%. My chance is 1-0.5^(10) = 99.9% (it is the complement event of flipping tails 10 times in a row).
This is so basic that denying this makes you worthy of a nut house.
Nope. That just means the probability that it should have dropped is smaller. Here is the thing. The mount basically has a .77% chance to drop. Meaning that every time you kill it, it has a .77% chance to drop. That % doesnt increase the more times you farm it.
A person who is killing it for the first time has a .77% chance of getting it. The person killing it for the 2601th time has a .77% chance at getting it. So technically you could kill it every week, 10 times a week till the end of time and never get it. Its just a probability thing. The more times you dont get it to drop the probability that you will get it increases ever so marginally. But the chance that it will drop never increases.
Rare mounts are only rare because of the drop rate, not because they are any good. We have this bad mentality that something that no one has must be rare because Blizzard decided to make a stupidly low drop rate for no real reason.
Press X for doubt
Yep. Flip a coin and its 50% chance no matter how many previous flips there were. For some mounts, its possible to never get it.
you are a tool
