Internal Auction Error when trying to buy a WoW token

When I try to buy a WoW Token in retail I get “internal auction error”. I tried disabling all addons but I still get this error. Is this the new token policy or something else?

Disabling add-ons isn’t the same thing as an UI reset. I’d recommand doing an UI reset and maybe check your firewall to ensure it isn’t blocking it.

How can we tell if its simply that I am not in compliance with the new token policy? I’m pretty sure i spent real money on game time during the new time frame but how can I check and how will the game notify us if we haven’t?

:EDIT:
I did buy a subscription in 2019

same problem for me.

bought tokens last week just fine.

issue is probably not on our end.

You can check via the Transaction History tab on your Account Settings page.

I reset my UI. Bought the token. Then i put my old UI folders back in and tried buying a second token and it still worked. I don’t know.

did you do anything with addons or just reset the UI?

Getting the same issue. Even uninstalled all my addons and nothing.

Did only uninstall or did you do a proper reset uninstalling wont fix the problem.

Proper resetting of the WoW UI – and why it’s important

This topic comes up a fair bit, why do I need to reset my UI? I’d like to take a moment to discuss that, why it’s important, how it is properly done and why you may be asked to do it.

First, what is the UI and what is a ‘proper’ reset?

The UI in WoW is literally your senses in the world. It impacts everything you see and touch. Our developers have allowed addons to change certain aspects of that, players can control their preferences. All those changes live in a sandbox within WoW – and those can sometimes behave oddly or get corrupted, especially after changes to the game through patches or updates.

That sandbox is the WTF, Cache and Interface folders. That’s why a proper reset UI either deletes them, renames them – or moves those folders. This should be done with WoW totally shutdown.

The next time WoW is launched, if those folders don’t exist, they are recreated fresh. A /reload doesn’t do it. Uninstalling your addons doesn’t do it. Even reinstalling the game (depending on how it’s done) may not do it. While not part of the official instructions, personally – I also reboot my system. That makes certain nothing pesky may be persistent in memory.

Also, if you have an auto-updater for your addons, please disable that prior to doing the reset. Don’t reinstall anything before you go back to the game to test.

But everything was fine last time I played!

Yes, it may have been, something in the game may have changed and addons need updated to adjust to the changes. Our devs don’t write the addons, those are third parties. It is up to the third parties to adjust to the changes in the game.

Also, everything may NOT have been fine last time you played, you just didn’t run across or notice the issue. One symptom of a corrupted UI is more often than not something you DON’T see – vs. something you do.

But it’s only happening on one character!

Yes, that is often a common symptom, it doesn’t have to be on every character.

Why am I always being asked to do this?

Because the vast majority of times, it works. Even if an issue persists afterwards, it’s a vital troubleshooting step to rule out some of the most common issues.

Should it not resolve an issue (and you are certain you’ve done it properly), a bug report or a ticket may be appropriate. In those cases, please do note that you’ve done the reset. Even then, you may be asked to do it again, but it’s helpful for us to know upfront.

So I am having this same error on my account, but not my 2nd account. Would it still be a UI Error at that point?

Yes still do the ui reset.

i’ve reset UI, renamed everything, restored my buttons and everything to preset defaults and still have the same problem. made 3 tickets with no response over the last week
:frowning:

You only need 1 ticket multiple tickets just make things harder for the 3 gms trying to make sense of this.

Ah i’ll apologize to the the gm’s if they respond

Same for me.

This doesn’t give me hope that my issue will be resolved soon, since I only submitted my ticket last night…

Okay, but did you just delete your add-on folders or did you do the full and complete UI reset as outlined in the article linked early on in the thread? That is more in-depth than just deleting your add-ons, and generally speaking - just deleting the add-on folders alone really won’t fix anything.

Reset UI, removed addons, renamed Cache, WTF and interface to old as suggest so it syncs brand new. Nothing works.

Did the all the steps 2 times, got my nerdy brother to do it 1 time, then uninstalled then reinstalled the game. STILL NO FIX. Deleted the folders instead of renaming, still didn’t work. Downloaded on a virgin laptop that has had no WOW or Blizzard games on it, STILL DIDNT WORK.

Looking forward to the next over explained hotfix.
Now I hate myself because I could of gone and worked for the 4 hours instead off all this and brought the new DLC and 1 year sub,
PS. loving the game, cant wait for SOD.
