Ingame support team said post this here: SOD PTR Vendor purge took out items not from the PTR vendor

I have been instructed by customer service in ticket 102612953 to put up a post here for fixing. This is for SOD.

When the PTR vendor was spawned I purchased a duplicate tier 2 set to the one I had. The server alert went out saying these items would be removed so I returned them to the vendor. Come Tuesday, all my boss-dropped tier two was removed, but in addition to that my recently purchased undermine real vendor bracers were also removed.

I get taking away the stuff from the PTR vendor and I am fine with that but the way this was done with hard-earned drops being removed is a huge gut punch and these drops need to be restored.

This log was from the month before the purge and shows me wearing the gear that got deleted; WCL report id: W7gt6AFLdXxrpYaB though I am positive that Blizzard can independently confirm I had these items.

You would need to post in the forum meant for WoW Classic. There are no developers or Community Managers on this forum.

Two things:

First, that PTR vendor being present on Live selling Tier 2 was clearly a bug. Next time, if it appears too good to be true, it probably is.

Second, to fix the bug and the players exploiting it, Blizz ran a script which may not have been fine grain enough to catch the very few people who bought items they already had, and perhaps some other stuff.

Jetsum is correct, post this in SOD forums as a bug in the hopes the devs decide to take the time to restore the items. But, idk if they will.

Persoanlly, in your shoes I’d consider myself lucky to have not been placed on game vacation.

I’m quite sure they meant the bug report forums.

Edit: It was confirmed not to be a bug below but as part of an anti exploit measure.

I’m sorry, Combustible, but they did not instruct you to post here. What they said was:

The threads you linked were in the Bug Report Forum as well as the Seasons of Discovery forum. Please note, this is not considered a bug. The items appear to have been removed in connection to Bug Exploitation. Customer Support has no involvement in the process and cannot assist.
