Increase Dungeon Group Size to 8

Yeah, it would tough to balance that. Ignoring the fact that it’s practically impossible to do, the difficulty would have be nerfed pretty substantially. How would you get 8 pugs on the same page on anything that’s even remotely difficult?

Oh i dont disagree. Tough, and possibly impossible to do with pugs. Might have to be a group only thing, which, face it, would make it just the next M+… which would be removing the point.

1 tank, 1 healer and 6 dps… 3 DPS already exceeds the patience level of most tanks. Imagine 6 idiots running around pulling extra mobs…

Yeah, no thanks. If DPS want a shorter queue time, then they need to fix themselves first so they aren’t frustrating all the tanks and healers. Of course, we all know that won’t happen because DPS think they are the best thing to happen to gaming since dice were invented.

Or you could play a healer or a tank.

I can’t keep 3 stand in poo never interrupt dps upright let alone 6 on my healer.

Yeah, that’s a solid no. Hard enough to heal if you get a group of people that have to lick bad up close and personal. Weak bait bruh. Easy fix, roll a tank or healer.

99% of the problems can be fixed by:
Learn your class.
Learn the dungeons.
Run your key.
Make friends and run with them.
Don’t apply to +18 pug if your highest run was a 7.
Etc, etc…

TLDR: Stop being lazy.

Why do you people say this like it’s some brilliant criticism? Like, duh. Of COURSE they’d have to retune it. Why even mention it? The intention, I’m assuming on behalf of the OP, is not to make dungeons easier or harder, but to correct DPS overpopulation by actually creating enough slots for them to reasonably run dungeons. Obviously mobs would need nearly double health, and you’d have to account for more interrupts, CC, and other utility, as well as additional AoE damage being taken by the party and it being harder to spread out.

This would be an expansion-level change. Due to the layout of dungeons with much smaller rooms than raids, it would only really work for new dungeons being created.

increasing the number of dps won’t make you any more likely to get invited to groups, because there will likely be less overall groups.

you think tanks feel pressure now, and don’t like running with pugs? add three more dps to herd into that mix. no thanks.

You got someone that’s done a total of 18 timed keys 0 of which is a 10+ (you haven’t even experienced prideful yet) telling people that his idea is indeed a good one when you’ve barely even experienced the content yourself. If you’ve ever healed a group of 5 on pride you’d know this idea is beyond ridiculous.

Currently the only ways a group wipes is if tank falls over or kicks are missed.

Lets say Blizzard entertains this silly idea and goes 1/1/6, tell us in a perfect world how they would “balance it”. Do you even know that that even means?

Lets say they simply just double the mobs and the tank now takes 2x the damage now, how would they tune that?

For low keys it will not matter at all cause everything hits like wet noodles but on a 20+ keys its going to be impossible to tune. Are they going to double the tanks survivability or half the damage of the mobs because mathematically it doesn’t add up.

Currently DPS get 1 hit by all trash mechanics on fortified keys that are probably 16-17+ so how are they going to tune that? Now we have twice the amount of mobs that will potentially 1 hit people with 1 tank/1 healer.

Maybe instead of that lets increase the cast rate of the boss/trash and keep the same numbers, are they going to now double the hp/dmg of these mobs? When everything already 1 hits whats the point?

Lets try get a interrupt rotation with 7 people because that’s exactly what you’ll need to survive keys since 1 missed kick is probably a wipe.

Not a very well thought out argument if you are basing the success of your suggestion on “balance” when you’ve never even experienced a dungeon at a near impossible level as it is.

The answer is more people need to roll tanks and healers. Stop abusing people in PUGs and maybe we will see this happen.

No Balancing does not make DPS not stand in fire or push their interrupt button.

Yea that’s entirely possible more people would try to queue as dps.

I think we actually need a solution to the problem but I can’t really think of one, since, in my opinion, telling people they should just roll a tank or healer instead of dps if they wanna get into a group in a game they pay for monthly + per expansion is not really a great solution either. I mean the point of different roles and classes existing is that you get to choose what you want to play.
