If anything, drop it down to 3.
Just bring three hunters who have their pets out and WOW 1/1/6!
Hunter pets are the perfect PuG DPS! They body pull, they fail all the skips, they never interrupt, and they do basically no damage.
There is one small difference - they don’t say in partychat things like “SUCK healer SOO bad uninstall”
They could bring back scenarios and make it a viable gearing path. DPS that just wanted to get in/out for some gear could queue for that and the ones that prefer a more standard dungeon experience would be competing with less people for dungeons.
Honestly I think I would heal and tank if I had some way of learning to heal and tank that doesn’t involve inevitably ruining some runs for others or making them way harder.
The only thing that keeps me from trying to heal or tank is really that I don’t feel like I have anywhere I can go to practice where my initial skilllessness would only affect me. For tanking I suppose to a degree solo torghast runs could teach me how to mitigate damage efficiently at least but for healing I feel like all ways of learning it now include making things bad for others.
Honestly? PvP (the epic ones), and LFR are an excellent way to practice. People are there taking damage, but at the same time you aren’t flying solo. Well for healing, tanking would probably be another story. Finding some people that wouldn’t mind running dungeons with you while you practice could be an option as well. I would totally heal you while you learned to tank, or dps while you learned to heal.
Honestly random unrated pvp is amazing for learning how to heal lol
If i’m playing a new healer class i like to level from level 1 and do random dungeons as healer until max level. Generally by then i have a grasp of what’s going on
What holds me back from healing dungeons other than my dislike of random people is that i don’t know the dungeon mechanics and at this point i’m in the same boat of i’m a severe hinderance to any group i’d want to join and i don’t learn from youtube videos
I played a few mmo with group sizes 6-8. I can tell you they can be a nightmare or tons of fun. The good ones have healing type mechanics baked into the dungeon. No need for healer mostly or tank for that matter. It always full of surprises as some dps just never learn. Love watching them die over and over instead of clicking heal button right next to them. Too bad wow current team could not do this like in MOP. I like the three man ones. Never understood why they just drop them at end of expansion.
while i dont think we should get rid of 5man dungeons, i think that really works…i do like the idea of maybe having 1-2 mega dungeons that are 8man content that could reward maybe a bit better loot and have a mount chance boss or something. a cool format could be 2tanks 2healers 4dps and make it a dungeon layout but mechanically work like a mini raid with taunt swap bosses or adds dropping in that type of stuff. Something a bit different that could be fun.
How many times have you ran the dungeons in SL? Hopefully enough that you know where to go and hopefully enough you know what to do by now.
The easiest way is to queue for random normal and heroic to learn them regardless of your iLvL. You really can’t foul up normals unless maybe you pull the entire thing to the boss and pray.
Make a Druid, spec into guardian, roll on. Probably easiest tank to learn, or kyrian prot paladin.
And you can always ignore people who are buttholes so you never cross paths with them again.
Healing I can’t speak on, I will not do it again.
Only feasible solution is people run their keys more often.
There’s 5-10x more people applying to keys than running their own.
So, make parties the size of raid groups in XIV and…go that way?
There has to be a more genteel way of fixing queue times, this is just weird.
This isn’t going to solve anything. Instead of looking for 3 dps of a certain io, I’m now looking for 6. More players in a mythic won’t lower standards for invites.
No, you increased wait times cause now I need to wait longer to fill it with qualified players.
You have also doubled the risk of someone butt pulling by accident. You have also increased the chance for someone in the group to rage quit.
See people like you are exactly who I’m scared of.
You expect me to know how to view the dungeon from a tank’s perspective and to just be immune to people being mean, but I don’t and I’m not.
As a tank i would hate that, i already have to deal with 3 DPS mostly not knowing their spec to use their utility or something as simple as interrupting i would hate to deal with 3 more of those.
Hopefully dungeon size stays 3 for ever.
Seriously though, you know the routes right? That is 90% of the battle right there. DBM addon and you’re good to hook. And yes, you should be immune to people being nasty online, that’s no way to live. Hell with em, be better than them, take the high road and you’re better off all the way around.
And honestly, those trifling butthole people, they’re in every facet of life and putting them on the ignore list is the easiest way in life to never see them again.
And I don’t see why I’m the one you’re afraid of or whatever, hell I’m giving you pointers on trying something new that you may enjoy. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
Tell you what, I’ve got a level 52 troll shaman I’m trying get to 60, add me and I’ll group with you and steer you right. I’ve tanked +8s with a steady group on this paladin and just got a Druid up to 60 tanking pugs. Easy peasy
I would rather it stay 5 man but allow for 5 dps to run normals and heroics. Just need to balance damage output as there is no tank or healer. But make it hard enough at least in heroic if they don’t interrupt they may die.
Queue system would always look for classic groups makeup first then after 5 minutes or so look to put you in anything.
this! i dont know why people will not use those interrupts and insist on standing in fire ect. stupidity or laziness.
You’re a pandaren… just have a beer
I agree they should increase the number of dps in the queue system - even adding one more dps per group should make a noticable difference though without requiring too many other changes.
