In hindsight, the war effort kinda sucks

It was a part of a gated dungeon system for Sunwell.

You look like a clown in this thread, Zipzo.

It’s nice seeing every kind of player come together to contribute. Surprisingly the more hard core guilds are as a whole taking a backseat here.

Yeah, don’t be that guy. Be patient and do what you can. Don’t blame others. AQ should be a longer tier than the previous ones.

I didn’t blame anyone…like I very explicitly said I’m not about to do so. There’s no “blame”, I’m just expressing my dissatisfaction with this event in terms of it’s design.

Sure, reported though for trolling. If you don’t have anything useful to add I really don’t care about your opinion on me.

AQ event and war effort is a awesome concept, its a shame Blizzard cant do more stuff like this, it brings the best and worst out of people, CRZ, data mining makes that pretty much impossible these days.

Do i contribute? or do profit off the war machine? Do i opt out completely and do nothing? Massive player driven effort is what MMORPG’s are meant to be. 100 -1000’S players out in the world interacting with each other to achieve a common goal.

The down side of AQ event was we knew the required materials which took a away the authenticity of original event.

Blizzard will finish the war effort for you eventually, still need a scepter holder to bang the gong to open AQ though.

Also your server is no where near the worst , 68% atm.

Yeah we aren’t the worst but that isn’t exactly a comforting bar lol

2 weeks maybe if you lucky, then 5 day for materials to move , late August.

Cant link but good for keeping track of servers war efforts.

#nochanges You wanted the experience, now you got it!

I’m not directly participating in the whole Scarab Lord thing, but I’ve turned in some war effort mats. IMO, stuff like this is what makes MMO different from anything else. Also, it’s why your realm matters. Part of being so closely connected to so many other people is that what they do affects you. Honestly, if you really don’t like that, Classic may not be for you. Retail may be more along the lines of what you want. Especially since you mention time constraints in your post as well.

after 30 days they auto complete 3% or 5% a week.

Lol, the cop-out argument of Classic forums.

You think think I’m gonna drop the guild I’ve been in since launch and raided with since first lock, as one of their tanks, who they’ve given tons of loot, who I consider all of them my friends and planned to kill KT with, and just arbitrarily go play retail… just because I don’t like the war effort? You think that because there’s one thing I don’t like, that there can’t exist hundreds of other things about Classic that I do like?

Your suggestion doesn’t even approach the realm of logical. I know how to think. If I wanted to play retail over classic, I wouldn’t have needed you, here and now, to tell me lol.

War effort is a one time thing that will never happen again. I hope you are farming mats rather than raid logging and complaining that other people aren’t doing the work for you.

Then you take the good with the bad. You don’t like it. That’s fine. Lots of other people loved it and that’s fine too.

At least the good news for you is they’ve never done anything like that again.

So quit whining and start farming.

this is kinda the fault of the players on those servers. if horde servers with virtually no alliance population are able to coordinate and come together to open the gates, any server with any population can.

yes there is, after 30 days supplies will slowly start to turn themselves in.

i like the war effort, i think its awesome from an rpg standpoint. that’s the thing about classic wow, the whole game wasnt dedicated to just gameplay and raiding. it was an entire living breathing world. and as i have said before, realms with worse population were able to open the gates, so i dont think ‘wonky population’ is tht valid here.

There is a reason they never did anything on this scale again. Its frankly just not s great mechanic. It punishes entire servers rather than just individual players.

Get deputized and make some $$$ selling those carapaces to all the wannabee scarab lords out there. Can make tons of gold while waiting for gates to open.

It was a great mechanic. Its also not a punishment. The raid was our reward for completing a serious set of quests and trials. Viewing it as a punishment is seriously warped perception with a side of massive entitlement.

AQ auto opens eventually.

It does punish small servers. When you can’t complete something because of factors outside your control aka server population then its not a good mechanic and you are being punished for being on a small server. As I said there is a reason they never did an event on this scale again.

Now classic is a different beast than the original wow. Servers are way bigger than they were back then and people knew this was coming. Even so it is still taking a while for a lot of servers to open the gates.
