I’m over in Stormheim, at Aggramar’s Vault, and I’m pretty certain it’s overrun with gold farming bots at the moment.
Thought about reporting them individually, buuut, for all I know these people from the Earthen Ring server just really like grinding these mobs, and are bad at names, and have been doing this for hours.
If, and that’s a big “if”, they aren’t gold farming bots, would I get in trouble for reporting them? Really wish a gm would just pop over there and put eyes on the situation.
Just to point it out; GMs don’t go in game from someone posting on the forums. Even then, the hacks team tend to look into them before taking any action.
Reporting doesn’t always equal action. Reporting is pretty much bringing it to the GMs attention, like ‘Hey GM, take a look at this.’ You wouldn’t get in trouble for reporting in good faith.
Report and move along, also do NOT tell others to report them in chat as that could get yourself in hot water. I know it doesn’t seem like anything is done but there is, as investigations take time.
Having dealt with a similar situation on WRA a few times, my advice to you would be to report the suspected behavior along with the time, date, general behavior exhibited; etc. I seriously doubt (frankly I expect one has a better chance of being struck by lightning 3 times concurrently) that you will get into trouble. If your fears are correct, Blizzard usually does follow up with a response and a thank you for helping keep Azeroth safe.
I get your concern. While I’m loathe to report anyone, forums or otherwise; if what your seeing doesn’t pass what is often called in Law “the reasonable person” test, I think it might be worthwhile to have it on the record if for no other reason than to indemnify yourself; so that if someone reports you in turn as a retributive action the GMs can see what is going on in full.
That being said, I have never heard of a person in game being punished for making a report like this; especially when it’s done in good faith. In my experiences usually it’s all about the ultimate intent. Keep in mind however as others have already said, that nothing may come of it. The GMs have tools we do not, and if they decide nothing objectionable happened; you’ll have to leave it at that.
I’m not sure why, given that everything in the OP is handled by a different team, the hacks team, but also given that Blizzard’s support staff manage more then just WoW.
I think your issue lately was surrounding a ban? Ban appeals are not a back and forth, I hope that is already established?
yes, everyone would like to have a personal conversation with a Blizzard Rep, no, that is simply not possible.
Then stop responding and start putting people on ignore tho this is the most heavily moderated forum ur more likely to get a forum vacation here then anywhere else.
Oh dear lord my poor child how wrong u are u realy dont want to provoke the panda or centaur many players have found out the wrong way. So lick on ur profile click the top right box u will see a bell and normal there is a drop down menu with mute and ignore.
Subscription costs would go sky high. How many staff do you think it takes to police all realms and phases of all iterations of the games blizzard own. Too many is my response.
