In-game GM Possibly Needed

If you thinking like the days when we saw them around in-game, I think the reason why they are rare now to see in-game is because it did make it harder or longer for people to get problems resolved.

Not how it works. GM’s don’t investigate bots, the hacks team does. Most bots are on stolen accounts. It will get taken care of, but on their timeframe not yours. Investigations take time. Report and move on.

One of my best memories of WoW goes back to the first opening of the Dark Portal where a GM showed up as a Paladin in full Grand Marshal Armor on the Silver Hand when the Alliance and Horde were street sweeping all of the incoming demons. He congratulated us on clearing the Dark Portal completely of almost ALL of the elite demons. I still have that screenshot, along with this guy (back then generic WC3 styled Human Paladin) waving to Brave Moonhorn after he managed to evade him to use the Lift at Honor’s Stand in Classic.

But that GM appearing like that… I’ll tell you guys. It was a big morale boost for both the Alliance and Horde players and everyone was talking about it for days with glee like we were five year olds at Christmas time. Sometimes it’s the little things like that, which really do make the difference. Sometimes a friendly word of encouragement is all it takes.

Super confused. Assuming you were responding to a particular comment about ban appeals?

Both.

OP did have a different request.

Cam then stepped in about a different reason.

So I was posting about two different things.

Oh really? That is indeed a very, very real thing. I strongly recommend you heed the advice of your peers on this matter before you have to find out just how real it is.

Reporting is very helpful, Keinaah - just do the ones you can that you have the time for.

Reporting isn’t, however, the only way we catch these guys.

They also don’t normally just ‘poof’, it takes a little time and for every one reported, there could be many dozens nabbed at once.

No, you won’t ever be reprimanded for making a report in good faith.

Sadly, as long as some players continue to give these criminals money they have a vested interest in continuing and it’s a never ending battle.

Id be more worried if your posts are being removed.

Yes, it has. You’ve had a few posts removed.

The interesting thing of participating on these forums for awhile, you get to see all sorts of things - the point being, when your posts are removed, our posts that include snips of quotes from your moderated posts remain - seemingly disjointed in the flow of the actual topic.

But alas, I’m sure you’re ready to just argue that.

You realy should heed our advice and quit while u still have posting priviledges.

It absolutely has. Your posts have been removed, and you’re well on your way to having your ability to post removed.

Just keep poking the bear.

I’m just going to add onto your statement with the correct facts:

People have every right to flag a post if they deem it may violate the Forum Code of Conduct or the forum guidelines. You may think you’re telling the truth in your post, but people will still have the right to flag it if they feel it it is in violation. Moderation will decide, and act upon appropriately if it is in violation of any of the Code of Conducts or policies.

Being here on Customer Support, it is one place though where trolling of any sort is best to be avoided the most, because Vrakthris, Orlyia, in fact, all the Support Forum Agents have a strong stance against trolling the forums, and will act accordingly.

So, whether you disagree with people flagging you, just like everyone who uses the forums, are not free from forum account action if caught breaching the Forum Code of Conduct.

i hate to hijack thread but i have similar question i reported a few potential gold sellers on classic on my troll warrior. i got email a 5-30mins letter thanking me for my report. is this in any way related to the report i made?

They cannot tell you that, and you know that.

Sure it is , no other reason to get something like that. They want to encourage people to report when they can

okay thank you for helpful reply. didnt need any details on actions taken just was wondering if it was related cause usually on retail they arent that fast.

A thank for a report is hardly passing on the results of that or those reports. Yes they wont share what happened but thats not what this is about

Sure it is a automated response to every report they get

You can right-click report them and you can also send an email to hacks@blizzard.com if you want to attach screenshots or video that might help illustrate what’s happening and where. The hacks team will then check the data logs of what is transpiring and proceed accordingly. Bot farmers like those you suspect are active at Aggravar’s Vault tend to be observed for some time. This allows the team to gather data about the bot program and improve their detection software. It also allows them to catch more of them.
