It is kind of insane that you can’t even use the word for the group with the symbol associated with WWII. Quite ridiculous.
The point of a forum is for individuals to exchange their thoughts and ideas so why wouldn’t I continue to argue my point?
Names do not have to be offensive to be inappropriate. That’s not how it works. It’s up to Blizzard to determine if a report of an inappropriate name is actually in any violation of the rules.

Not really. Using that name would absolutely be against the rules and an extremely poor chosen name for a fantasy world game.
Having a discussion is one thing. You seem unhappy about the rules for names. If you have a suggestion to make regarding the rules, the General forums or in-game suggestion feature would be better suited.

This is world of warcraft, a dungeons and dragons style RPG. It is not controversial to prohibit names that reference real-world atrocities and associated groups.
Those would be members of the community, and everyone in the game can report any name they feel is unacceptable at any given time. And those that refuse to report names that they believe to be unacceptable also help shape the community, by allowing others to use such names despite disagreeing with them.
Considering that list would be infinite, I would say it is impossible to make it.

No, I understand you can’t use that word as a name, but you can’t even say the word in the forum. They are treating everyone as if they are six-year-olds.

Yes, it would likely be someone who thinks it’s okay to use (like a six year old would) that need to have it blocked. I’m not sure what you’re point is really. The term isn’t needed here or in-game.

I am not arguing to use those words for a character, and I agree, it would be poor use in this game. However, it seems ridiculous that I can’t even type out the word here.
So start your own forum for hate groups? You’re not exactly making sense or winning any points here.
It makes sense to most people in public and society that it’s not a word that you need to be able to say wherever you want. Use it at home, in the shower, in your car, with others who are like-minded I guess.
But yeah, there are rules and restrictions here.

Games have rules. Simple as. You agreed to them, follow them or don’t. Though if you value using the forum or playing the game I would think you would stick to your word and follow the agreement you made.

As the individual above was trying to make their point, they had to tip toe around the word to argue for their valid point.
Nobody here wants to start a hate group and it’s offensive that you would even suggest as much.
Nobody, especially me, is in support of White supremacy, and nobody here argued in support of those concepts or ideas.
No, we’re treating everyone as if this is a T for Teen rated game that has specific policies that everyone has agreed to abide by and that certain subjects have no place here.
While we’re still looking into the issue where a silence was applied with a name violation, I think we’re going to close this one for now. We’ll provide an update as soon as we have more information.
