Everybody and their mom always says “art team knocked it out of the park” for like every zone and every xpac ever. The wow art team is probably the department that gets dragged the least in wow.

They don’t have to pay extra if they get it with a 6-month sub. They literally have to pay LESS.
The artists are employees on salary. Blizzard has a reputation of paying its employees as little as they can get away with. They artists are not working for the satisfaction of knowing that many people are going to be admiring their work, they’re working for their weekly paycheck and the prestige of being able to put “Blizzard” on their resumes sometime in the future.

People aren’t mad about the art, people are mad because this is stuff that should be in the game and it shouldn’t be used to try and get more subs for the quarter. Also if you think the store money is going to the artists you have no idea about the reports on Blizzard’s business practices, it most likely is not going into the artists pockets but into bobby’s pockets. If you are concerned about what artists get paid then perhaps you should be advocating for blizzard to pay their employees more. None of this is about the art itself.

People have ragged on WoW artist’s work since tier 1 was first introduced. That’s part of their job to be open to criticism.

Just because you take the opinion of some one that likes a person’s art as valid does not make the opinion of the person that doesn’t like it or how they express how they don’t like something less so .
