Yeah… I’ve never been into these two. I think they look stupid mostly because the w doesn’t look like a mouth to me. They’re an evolution of ^ _ ^ which actually makes a 
on this forum if you remove the spaces. I use ^ _ ^ all the time, but never the newer ones.
All of these, of course, are a miniature evolution of ASCii art which died with the advent of fonts that were no longer fixed-width.
Fun fact… I did a lot of business directly with Japan in the late 90’s and early 00’s and it wasn’t uncommon to see m(__)m in casual e-mail exchanges. It’s someone bowing. I don’t know why, but I always thought this one was adorable. You never see it anymore, though.

Yes, of course. I’m going to be 44 next week. I don’t (or anyway didn’t) know any of the terms you mentioned, nor am I up on memes or streamers or any other new fangled things. If I want to play, I play, if I want to discuss, I come here.

Since we’re on the same server I’m gonna assume you mean the lifestyle guilds that people like to advertise. Those are basically the kinky guilds that are more focused on the bedroom than the actual game. And yes I believe they should be forcibly disbanded.

i either know what most of these words are, or just don’t care.
the only time words bother me, is when they’re basic every day words, often as small as 3 letters, which people are unable to use in the correct form when attempting written communication.
…and then they try to play it off as if it doesn’t matter because it’s “just the internet”.

I tend to keep up with the newer gamer lingo because most of the games I play outside of WoW are majority played by people almost 15 years younger than me so I get to ask for them to translate the stuff. Also, a lot of the anime terms and ascii stuff is literally stuff we used all the way back in the 90s on AOL chat.
It’s like uwu, poggers, lit, and a bunch of others. Just learn as you go.
Mostly streamer stuff. I only know it coz my partner occasionally watches asmon, esfand, swifty etc.
I’m 37, and I’m right there with you. It also irks me how many times I’ve seen kids on this forum refer to “putting in the work” to obtain things in WoW. “Casuals don’t deserve X. Put in the work”.
