I would have still preferred working under Hamuul Runetotem as Horde.
I too would like the Horde to actually work with its own characters instead of the bigger names getting Neutralized every two expansions
Especially if the Horde has a character that would be just as motivated to help the Alliance/neutral one in trouble, if for different reasons. Tyrande made sense for alliance as Malfurion is her love/mate, Hamuul would have made sense for the Horde as Malfuion could be his teacher or superior in the circle.
Responses like the following make what you posted sound less like Alliance wishes, and more like Horde wishes:
Legion could’ve definitely had Saurfang or some other Orc in place of Velen for the Horde when going against Kil’jaeden.
Sorry, but I would honestly like to see some Alliance aggression for a change, just to prove Blizzard actually has the nuts to do it.
Why so we can hear horde players cry about losing more leaders, nah I am good #breakthecyclestoplisteningtodumbplayers
Or we could just completely leave night elves out in the wind and without any sort of satisfaction whatsoever.
That works too.
So basically what they did in BfA?
Why not? You all complain about getting pooped on but then when they toss you a lore victory by saying “Hey, you won the battle and get to keep Darkshore” you complain more because it’s either not enough or about poop that hasn’t even happened yet.
Why bother at all?
Are you joking???
I really hope you are not serious right now.
Night elves lost everything, got humiliated in every way possible and you are saying that getting one of our zones back that’s already destroyed and pillaged is enough?
We literally did not get one single satisfying moment after we’ve lost everything to show how great the horde is, not even a cinematic. Then in 8.1 all that happened was further humiliation and showing off how powerful Nathanos is and we are supposed to be happy with getting 1 of our 3 zones back which had to be answered in a Q&A?
I’m curious with what would be “satisfying”.
Tyrande launching her own private little war, attacking some Horde settlements, raising a few towns etc etc? You have to know that such a thing would end in failure just as heavily as Sylvanas and Garrosh’s campaigns to destroy the Alliance, right? What then? Settle for just having a chance to jab at the Horde instead of getting jabbed for a change, or just more complaints that she didn’t get the victory she’s “entitled” to?
I suggested like a million things already that would be satisfying for night elf players, losing everything to show the greatness and power of the horde is not satisfying, and giving the Horde cinematics as if they were the ones suffering after that is insulting.
So I’ve seen. I’ve tossed a few out myself, up to and including Horde helping to rebuild Night Elf stuff as a show of good faith. Didn’t seem to click with some other alliance fans. As I said, no one seems be satisfied with anything else than removing Horde as a playable faction altogether or some other ridiculous notion.
Camp T, the greatest massacre in all of wow. Never forget Camp T is the horde slogan. At Theramore we got revenge for Camp T. The nelf tree burned with its people over camp T. Blight was used in excess multiple times for Camp T. We will never forget. Not with forum warriors such as yourself reminding us.
It was called Stormheim. You know what monkey paw twist that lead to for which side was more aggressive? The burning of Teldrassil.
I truly hope when Ion retires the next game director has the will to move on from this “pillar” and merge the factions already so we can move on from the faction conflict for real finally.
That’s the plan. Hopefully they’re planning for catharsis in at least saving the souls lost at Teldrassil in Shadowlands and Tyrande getting something out of Adrenweald. Hard to ever tell with Blizzard, though, until the content is live.
Stormheim would have worked perfectly if Blizzard had been willing to commit to the no-provocation aggression angle of it, making it clear that there was no justification for the attack at the time and using it as a rallying cry for the Horde. However, Blizzard seems to enjoy denying the Horde clear motivation, and so it’s essentially never mentioned in the story anywhere, and the journal from the shipwreck exists for no reason other than to muddy the waters. Rogers is also completely absent from BfA as well.
What I think Dakore is talking about is the sort of clear, unambiguous rallying cry that Teldrassil became. No caveats, no “rogue elements”, no dangling hooks of justification.
I will give you that it probably won’t help that they’ll be tying Stormheim and Helya into Sylvanas’ Shadowlands storyline to make her look even more bad.
Nitpick, though, that I think you meant Rogers. Taylor died back on Draenor.
You’re correct. I am not as up to speed on the Alliance character cast as maybe I should be.
However, in my defense, Taylor IS completely absent from BfA… due to death.
<_<
Except now they have made Genn seem like the only smart one to recognize Sylvanas for what she is while Anduin, Saurfang, Baine, Tyrande, and all the major leaders of the neutral parties look like village idiots.
Very similar to how before bringing Kul Tiras into the game they had the horde burn Teldrassil down, civilians and all, which made Daelin Proudmoore look correct.
Also Taylor? Or did you mean Rodgers? (Amadis mentioned it)
