Time and time again Blizzard has proven they have no intention of building the Horde as a faction up; only tearing it down. Voss, Rokhan, and Thrall only ended up in their positions as Racial Reps because Blizzard broke those races to such an extreme degree … there were few alternatives. Mayla and Geya’rah are literally the same character as Talaanji; just with far less development. The Faction Identity is in tatters, as are several of the Racial Fantasies. Yet … Shadowlands seems like merely WoD 2.0; an excuse to again escape the consequences of their catastrophic writing.
So, I guess you’re right. Blizz should just let the Alliance get their satisfaction. Might as well destroy whats left of the Horde and let the Horde players simply exist at this point. Its not like we can expect anything different, and at least the Alliance might get something out of this nonsense…
It’s not going to happen. You know it. I know. Deep down, they all know it too. This entire thread is basically one long “I didn’t get the ending I wanted and now I’m pissed” rant.
And I honestly can’t blame them. One of the alliance’s favorite races basically got pooped on all over and the only thing they have to show for it is a Warfront event they get to play through and win in the lore. If I were in there shoes I would want to see Sylvanas’s corpse paraded through night elf lands as a sign of justice being served and Horde offering to help rebuild Night Elf stuff as a sign of good faith.
That’s about the extent of Alliance player satisfaction I’d be willing to give up as a Horde player though.
There was a lot that Blizz could have done to rectify matters as opposed to letting things fester this long that wouldn’t have mattered much to the horde narrative in the long run.
There was quite a few Horde characters created just for the Alliance to kill in their questing or their invasion world quests. These could have been attached to the Burning of Teldrassil as principle agents of Sylvanas and the Alliance getting small doses of proper directed justice/vengeance (whichever word you prefer) scattered throughout the x-pac.
The Orc Commander of the Brennandam massacre would have been a prime example of what I am mentioning. (I am thinking of the guy by the tank at the top of the hill, can’t remember who had Sylvanas’ orders quest item from the actual village, but he would be another).
The reliquary targets from the Alliance war campaign in Voldoun could have been involved or better yet replaced with the Shatterspear Mage and Shaman who had enhanced the catapults.
Maybe had that Dark Ranger that Shandis had us go after been involved with Teldrassil.
There was plenty of throw away characters that were intended to be killed during questing that with a little bit of writing work would have went a good way to dealing with this with minimal impact to the actual Horde roster of characters.
They simply didn’t want to do the little details or didn’t care to do them.
The Horde helping Night Elves rebuild is probably the last thing I’d ever want to see. I don’t want the Horde’s help. If we can’t get payback, at least let us never look into their faces ever again.
I really needed the image of Genn with a construction hat in my mind, thank you.
Honestly, in an ideal world where Blizzard actually uses our fantistic old zones more frequently, we could get much less of the temporary/perma-neutrality crap that I’m sure plenty of people don’t enjoy, like Alliance having to stand besides Horde in their second rebellion, or Horde having to suffer through Tyrande wailing about Malfurion in Valsharah (even I hated that…)
I mean, Horde just got an island with as many if not more Wild Gods than Hyjal! What need do they have for the Ancients nowadays?
Go celebrate the Lunar Festival in Suramar! Maybe even give it a new meaning, something about the Nightborne finally seeing the sky again after 10.000 years.
Thats all you guys should have to give up, honestly is just that, the alliance gets the sylvanas kil and end it right there, everyone else is asking for too much.
Disagree. The Horde helping rebuild would show that the NuHorde is committed to “breaking the cycle” and save us from yet another example of the humble-brag that is Stormwindian generosity under the gracious God-Emperor Anduin.
Thing is, if the Horde tries to help rebuild, as way of penance and proving they are willing to work for peace this time, yet Night elves, or the alliance, does not let them even try, well that gives the alliance the perfect way to start the next conflictm or rhe Horde to at least have better justification for striking first. Only thing is, since the Alliance were not willing to give the horde a chance to help and make up for their crimes, the alliance loses and any night elves not in the cenarion circle or any other neutral group are killed off for being a threat to Azeroth.
You know you’re going to be questing with Tyrande again in Ardenweald just like you did in Val’sharah and neither Tyrande or any other Night Elves are going to stop you.
The NuHorde is the exactly same Horde that started this war and carried through with it until 5 minutes ago. They might’ve swapped from Warchief to Council, but everyone on that council save Thrall also took part in this war.
I wouldn’t want to see the faces of these people ever again, even if to help me. Building up houses for the Night Elves doesn’t ensure they won’t come back to burn them a few years down the road. They’ve done it what, thrice now?
Sorry ole boy but you don’t have much choice in the matter. Either Blizzard will be having us helping each other out in some form or another or we’ll be going to war again. Either way, Horde and Alliance always end up meeting.
Oh I know. I don’t think the War should’ve ended yet, not without an actual resolution. But unfortunately they decided to mash two or three expansion in one just to rush us into the Shadowlands ASAP, so no resolution for us.
Considering this plotline apparently began in Legion… we could’ve had 5 expansion instead of these 2. Broken Isles, Argus, Battle for Azeroth, Nazjatar, Nya’lotha
But apparently Sylvanas’ story takes precedence over the Burning Legion, Azshara and N’Zoth so we gotta burn through 'em
I know, but if some alliance players want to not work with the horde or have nothing to do with them, they should be careful what they wish for, as Blizzard can take the wish and make it so it is the reason we go to war…AGAIN.
Why not? the story Blizzard writes doe not make sense, and confusing the dumb players is fun, more so when it causes some of the more volatile ones to self destruct.
Val’Sharah questing for a Hordie was such goodness. I loved every bit of Tyrande’s anger and vitriol towards us, made all the more satisfying when in the end she said “Good job, thanks for the help, but I still don’t like the Horde”
I expect nothing less than outright contempt in Ardenwald, finished off with “When this is all over, I’m coming for you!”
