if you’re talking about the MSQ, you don’t have to do it again with every class. you do it once and then have the option later to go through it as new game+

alt jobs you level through dungeons or other means

I’ve really given it the old college try. Everyone said combat gets better at 50ish (got to 56). Nope, it’s still slow as F. As a tank my off GCD’s are like buff’s, stuns, dmg reductions. So it’s really a bore. So slow and not as responsive as wow. Wow’s combat blow it away.

I got flying but you can’t even fly up high over mountains or take shortcuts without bumping into invisible walls.

I thought I’d try a healer, when you switch to a new spec (job) your key-binds are not reset for your new spec. Same key-binds for all classes? WTH. SO Lame!

Most healers in the game are clicking to heal or using F keys then heal. The mouse overs suck in this game with spell queuing the have. Having to “target heal” is so lame I honestly couldn’t believe it.

I thought the story was ok at times with other times it getting so repetitive. Seems like in the middle of a conversation, always some dude runs in and oh no another emergency. LoL

WoW is better suited for a lot of people, but not really me. For the past several years, I usually only play for a few months out of the year and then take a break because I don’t like the end level content of the game and my favorite thing to do, which was levelling was nerfed repeatedly until it became more of an after thought.

I prefer something with a little more adventure, exploration, an open world where I can slowly progress my character over a longer period of time. That is not what WoW is anymore, nor has it been for years.

Still, I do enjoy it enough to come back to play for a couple of months a year.

Wtf
The first non-troll, very well thought out, articulated forums response I’ve seen from a lowbie Classic alt I’ve ever seen

Respect.

They are both good games. they Both have good things about them and they both have bad things. I like both games, WoW is by far my favorite but right now WoW has too many damn systems and I’m not having fun with it.

WoW devs communicate with players

A lot

Here on the forum

Anonymously.

You’re right but that’s nothing new though. People on the forums have behaved like that for years whenever a new MMO comes out. I can’t count how many “WoW killers” aren’t even live anymore.

Asmongold is the WoW killer.

I had to google Asmongold. I laughed when realized you were talking about a person, LOL. I legit thought you were talking about another game.

Some
Troll n the forum is trying to convince me
Ff14 is newb friendly and I’ve read about this talk to npc marathon. I hate them I. Single
Player games and in mmorpg. Opposite of newb friendly.

Ff14 is a horrible game.

Glad you think so. Isn’t it nice that everyone can have their own opinion.

So all the trolls defending how ff14 isn’t a grind fest where are you at now? Even people who prefer ff14 admit a long drawn out leveling process.

It definitely is a longer levelling process. I’m four days /playtime and level 55
but I’ve also taken long breaks while logged in to watch TV, read forum posts here, on reddit and elsewhere. I imagine most people would have a lot less playtime as they actually log out. It doesn’t really feel grindy though, typically I will do around ten quests which are usually not very time consuming, then I will group up with other players and run a dungeon or raid.

To complete ARR I have around another 55 quests I believe, then I move over to Heavensward and have a bunch more to complete. I find this sort of activity to be enjoyable though, it is exactly the kind of gameplay I enjoy.

I’m 56 and 2.5 days played. Seems easy and I’m trying to only do MSQ and class quests. That’s with food xp buff and “Preferred Server” xp buff. I’m out leveling my MSQ. It doesn’t feel like a grind to me, just gets boring.

I mean, some of the last 8 man dungeons of the MSQ had about 30 mins of cut-scenes you can’t skip over. arghh!

Honestly feel like this game was made for people that just like playing dress-up barbie. I’m going to get to end-game just to see what it’s like though. But from what I heard the Raids feel less like a raid then wow. You’re not working your way through a Dungeon and the fights are very scripted mechanics.

I remember when I thought the Guild Wars 2 fanboys were the most obnoxious people on these forums. Good times.
