Game used to be about more than just raids…
I doubt you’re 65 yrs old lol
I started working before I was 20 but being 65 isn’t impossible you know.
Oh I know, It’s just by reading multiple of your forums posts, you really don’t seem like a 65 yrs old dude, you sure as hell don’t have the maturity for a 65 yrs old so I think you’re just lying behind the fact you have no job lol
This is off topic but really how do you figure a 65 should act.
Its not dumb. Its costly. They can get done what they can get done. Endless content takes time to perfect and develop. understand that.
No, no it really isn’t.
You’re just blindingly repeating this because you lack an actual argument. All of OP’s points are with merit and were reasoned within the 1st day.
And yet I never said in my post that classic wasn’t grindy did I?
By different experience I mean:
- A game where you have to rely on others while you level.
- A game where there’s actually a community because of all those “annoying” things you have to do.
- A game that has crafting that is ironically more interesting than now.
- A game where reputation matters.
- A game where there’s a skill tree so you can pick/choose what you want at least until you raid if you even bother to raid.
- A game with one raid difficulty.
I could keep going but I think I’ve listed enough.
I started in TBC btw. Not that far from classic. I know all about it.
ok and why are you telling me this exactly ? He said that we can’t criticise negatively because we don’t know how to do that work ourselves…
Customers criticise products all the time, yet they can’t design the product themselves because it’s not their expertise. People criticise movies all the time yet they don’t have the expertise to produce one either.
Just because we don’t do the work doesn’t mean we can’t crticise them. So yes its the dumbest thing iv read. I’m not here to discuss whether they did a good job or not, just telling him what he said is so wrong.
I played for a few hours last night with two friends. I guess we are doing it wrong, looking around at stuff, checking out the vendors offerings, just generally taking our time. We got a couple of WQs done on the first zone while doing the other quests.
I haven’t seen enough to say if it’s good or bad. But I can tell you, we enjoyed what we did.
I don’t deny that some people complain about grinding and I hate when people complain about it simply because they don’t want to, however grinding is the trademark of MMORPGs, the thing that hurts the most is that the grind doesn’t seem worthwhile. Sure, you can farm WQs non-stop to get some mana pearls and upgrade your Benthic gear to Heroic ILV before most people, but lo and behold, next patch your gear will be completely useless.
When you know that many times your efforts will be for naught, is the mindless grind really worth it?
A good example of what I am talking about is the Mage Tower skins. You know that all the grinding you did to get good gear, food, flasks and so on, all the deaths, all your effort to learn the fights was for something, something that would be yours forever and many people wouldn’t have, something worthwhile.
I dont think its people being babies about all the things you have listed, i think it just comes down to. Too little to late. Most of the people who stayed faithful to the game, are already over geared on the one or maybe 2 toons they really enjoy playing(due to crap class design).
Me personally I only enjoy playing 1 tank spec currently and 1 dps spec. The rest of the classes and specs are boring and put me to sleep. So when 8.2 dropped there is really nothing for me to get that could be a upgrade. We waited so long for the patch and essentially it dropped for anyone who plays casual and has a lot of alts.
So now im at the point where im asking myself do i even care? I try to do something in the game and just the firs thing that comes to mind… “Do I even care”. I know i could take a 6-10 month vacation and come back, just to catch up to anyone and everyone else in less than a month. All in all this expansion has been a complete failure. I have played it from launch up until now and i just dont care for it anymore. Unsubbed until 9.0.
Timeless Isles was TERRIBLE. It was a tiny area with horrible jumping puzzles I hated, areas that demanded you be in a party to do anything rewarding and that was it. I HATED ALL OF THT. Argus was just Timeless Isles with WQ added and a bigger map and some actual story quests.
I agree with everything else you mentioned but the players being quest givers. They tried this in fallout 76, granted its not WoW but still this is a bad idea trust me. Npcs that give quest are perfectly fine.
I will say i should be able to go afk and set up my own shop where people can come up to me and see what i have for sell and buy it from my personally out in the world. I really shouldnt need to go to the AH to sell my stuff to the public. This opens up player engagement with each other(slightly).
The zone feels like Argus again, which is NOT a good thing.
Yeah, Timeless Isle really saved it for me at the end of MoP. I had a lot of alts and it was fun playing there and getting them geared a little. From WoD on WoW hasn’t really felt like WoW. I think the nerf to the 415 weapon was a little salt for the wound.
I disagree, time gating leaves people more bitter, you see more and more finally quitting for good this expac than anything else. Dangling a carrot will stop working after a while, 8.2 wasn’t even a quarter of what most were expecting.
The mentality of alt catch up is beyond ridiculous too, so the people who actually focus on mains, like the game intended for years before this ridiculous alt-craft expansion came out are stuck sitting around waiting for that morsel.
I find it truly hilarious that so many here are alt-a-holics, need all these catch up mechanics, yet claim they can’t wait til Vanilla. NEWSFLASH good luck leveling all those multiple toons in vanilla, it’s not as easy as you all think.
The timeless isle comparition is about Mechagon, not Nazjatar.
Nazjatar was created to be a normal zone like any other while Mechagon was created to be like timeless isle, with sandbox elements.

Nazjatar was created to be a normal zone like any other while Mechagon was created to be like timeless isle, with sandbox elements. And they did it! Mechagon has the same feeling of timeless isle.
I Agree with the complains about Nazjatar, but about mechagon not, cause it is successful, it brought some rpg back , something that was missing in the game.
Hell no it doesn’t. It has the feeling of an island where they put a handful of piles of garbage and put 10 quests on that take less than 20 minutes to complete everything…
