The guy got a stress test invite but cannot download the client. It is a report-able thing because this thing lasts for 24 hours only and for most of us that’s all we’ll get to test before it comes out.
There’s no need to flame him or say he’s crying. From what it looks like this is not an isolated issue and there should be a blue post about it.
Yes, I do.
Hmmm Maybe were on something here, now how can we totally remove them ? I tried deleting anything PTR in PC but they still show in my region.
I get that, but there’s an active thread in CS about it. It’s still early in California, give them a little more time to respond.
We’re trying to figure this out. Nobody is crying or whining. Let it go, Elsa.
Hmm. Let me know if that works.
as much as people wish, nothing is instant in world of information, when dealing with this number of people. you got an email, i got an email. it took 4 hours past recieving an email to have client listen in bnet app… boo hoo, big deal, it is not available till 8pm my time anyway
I never post here, ever, but figured I’d throw my 2 cents in. Yesterday, just to dot the “i’s” and cross the “t’s”, I downloaded the full BFA client to my second drive after I noticed some people were getting into the stress test and I had not (no email or anything). Download was done like at 630p or so.
I received an email at 1030p or so based on checking my email this morning. I closed my Bnet (also removed any active processes related to it from task manager), reopened and the stress test option was there and had no problem downloading it to my SSD. It takes up extra space than usual on my SSD due to not already having the retail assets required (because it’s on a separate drive of course). No biggie.
I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but since your situation sort of matched mine, I figured I would post so that others may be able to troubleshoot.
Edited to also add that back when the Beta testing was announced, I added a PTR option to my account. I also had a free to play account that had been combined to my account for years (the free to play probably has nothing to do with any of this)
Downloading the client at the right time ~might~ be part of the stress test.
There is that potential also. The client may be gated to avoid too many attempting to download at same time? Who knows. Anyhow, good luck to everyone. I will revert back to “lurker status” now unless any other interesting situations pop up where I can actually help.
Archedemius,
Do you happen to have any PTRs in the region/account thing ?
Thanks
I cancelled all my plans for tonight when I got the email.
nothing on the launcher.
I do have a PTR that was added when Beta was announced. I edited my post to include that. I’m going to copy/paste to the blue thread linked earlier in any event that may help.
I am just wondering how many can fit in there and seeing I have 2 ptrs if that can be blocking the stress test or even a beta tests from showing ?
If so how can we remove them from the list.
No idea. Go to your account and see if you can. And make sure if there are any downloads/installs related specifically to the one you want removed, to remove them from your PC.
And as everyone should always do, if any fixes happen, respond back to any thread regarding this so that others, including BLUES, will be able to test against.
Edit: I mean go to your account management and see if you can remove.
Keep in mind this is prime time for spam/phishing emails. That email may not have come from Blizzard at all.
We should not have to be troubleshooting, but thanks to all the helpful posters in this thread. Blues need to see this.
But, there was a picture of Ragnaros!
I never click anything in emails even from my own friends hahaha.
The email was from Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. noreply@em.blizzard.com
There seems to be a legitimate issue with people invited who have two PTRs on their account (BTA ones). How do we fix this, Blizzard?
