I'm done with this snoozefest

Are you for real? How would I even know about the rep grind in the first place? It was never advertised. Use some sense! I was a first time consumer of the product! How would I even know how to go about all that?

@ Lyanda

No Blizzard failed in it’s duty to properly advertise the product. The “mountain of data” that wasnt on the packaging which should have been.

Well you are using the forum aren’t you? People have been complaining about allied races since BFA came out. Its an easy search.

Also just because you hit 120 doesn’t mean you get what you want. 120 is the easy part of the game

I got access to the forums AFTER I bought the game. So by then, after purchasing, I knew. Not beforehand. Getting to 120 is the “easy” part because it was FUN. That’s the difference. Mindless grinding is not fun.

I would rather do a Mythic Raid to get the new race than some stupid rep grind. The repetition is not challenging at all. It’s just asinine!

You’re new so you probably don’t have a lot of stuff, but can I haz that anyway?

Yeah, she’s for real. Your move, chief.

All of this is meaningless sophistry. all the forum yesmen seem to have this in common.

It’s a sub par system then encourages sub par game and story development. The allied race system was a mistake.

The only people who have to “endure” these topics are yesmen who “need” to go into near every negative topic to defend their sacred cow. Everyone else just ignores topics they dont like/are not interested in.

My move? Okay, WoWhead is not the official website for WoW.

Your move, chief.

This is the downside. Its like crack, when you first start doing it, it is fun and exciting. Then 15 years down the road youre out on the street selling your body and stealing hubcaps to get your fix.

Well said,

I came back after 4 years for Void Elves. I’d finally gotten a race I’d like to play on Alliance. Thankfully I knew there was a rep grind before I purchased BFA.

After I got it, I spent 1 and a half weeks grinding Argus and the other rep for Void Elves and Lightforged. After that another 2 and a half weeks grinding rep for BFA pathfinder, cause I like flying on alts.

Now I finally create my void elf and discover I don’t really like Alliance, lol. I’m sure I could have done a million other things when I came back, but grinding rep for the For the first month after coming back was not fun.

Edit: I’d just like to add that having Allied Races as a selling point for expansions and then locking them behind a grind sucks. Not a great way to entice people to come back to the game, imo. "Hey come back, this expansion pack has Allied races! (Shhhh…Returning players have to grind at least a week per allied race).

It also sucks that Void Elves are just Blood elves with different colors. I was expecting new animations and more care put into it. I didn’t think to look up how different they really are from Blood Elves.

Death Knights were gated. If you didn’t have a level 55 character you couldn’t roll one at all. If someone started playing with LK, they had to grind levels for weeks to get there.

DKs were also the gods of WOTLK and were a class, not race. And they were wrecking balls. The new races dont give any advantages to players.

You actually think the allied races are comparable to DK’s? Also, 55 back then wasnt even cap. Beyond that, you lost no progress switching to a DK at 55. If you leveled a different class to 55, you didnt have to restart at 0 and do it all over again. You hit 55, you got a level 55 Hero class.

Not the same thing at all.
