I don’t, either, but now that the system is in a lot of people would be upset if they suddenly took away the requirements.
It should have just been the completion of a quest line; no rep requirements or anything. They couldn’t have made Allied Races less enticing to me by forcing Exalted rep requirements, I don’t care how easy it is to obtain.
Arguably the biggest feature of this expansion is locked to me until I decide to stomach and actually go through the multiple-reputation slog.
It sounds like you’re complaining because you want something RIGHT NOW. Players these days don’t have any patience and today’s world is partly to blame.
They can’t balance the game around players that aren’t interested in learning how to play. The information is readily available with simple google searches, pinned guides, and youtube videos.
If a game cannot convey to me the nuances of playing it and requires that I go to a third party just to learn how to play then the game has failed as a player experience.
This is the same issue with Destiny. You don’t learn the lore of the game by playing the game, you have to go to a third-party website to read up on the lore.
The combination of FOMO, sunk cost of time already put into this game, and addiction based mechanics can readily explain this behavior.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there are former casino people working at Blizz these days, along with therapists that treat addictions, working to make ever more players ever more addicted to the game.
And I’m sure that there are some folks, like a couple I’ve known over the years IRL, that are happiest when they are “unhappy” and complaining about everything under the sun.
If you want a simple game with a built in tutorial there are games out there for you. WoW really hasn’t ever had that. Thottbot, wowhead and youtube guides have always existed.
No, I don’t see anything wrong with it. There is no reason to change an established game for a player that wants pay to win.
The fact that you’re effectively required to go to a third party website just to learn how to play the game means that the game is doing nothing to teach its players how to actually play it. It’s poor game design that can easily be rectified by having a development team that actually understands how to create a player-focused experience.
LMFAO “Pay to win”?
What bosses do I beat with a Mag’har Orc?
What raids do I auto complete?
What achievements do I gain?
Do I get all the mounts?
Do I get all the weapons and transmogs?
You dont get it, that’s your issue. You have a narrow view of what this game is and/or should be. Go tell the people on a RP server how to play WoW. go tell the people on a PVP server how to play WoW. Or a guild that does Raids vs one that does BGs. You really, really…wow just WOOSH.
The game has been this way for 15 years. There have always been great members of this community that contribute many amazing addons, guides, and other content.
It has worked since day 1. There is zero reason to change it when all of the information is readily available.
That is the point. Nothing here is pay to win. If you want to unlock an allied race do the unlock. It’s simple.
it’s funny because WoW IS pay to win. You cant get all the achievements or anything relevant without that monthly sub to begin with. And the same people saying I’m complaining and want pay to win likely dropped big bucks on mounts! XD
Great. Those players are amazing for providing this information to us.
Why isn’t the game doing it, though? Why do I have to keep taking myself out of the game just to find out how to get X reward? Or how to find Y person? Or learn how to play Z class?
And I find it even more hilarious that you say I want “instant gratification” and “pay to win” when Regular Orcs and Trolls are Objectively BETTER for the Warrior Class to begin with. I’m willing to take on that little extra “challenge” without Berserker Rage or anything extra to boost me through Racials. So I fail to see your logic in the slightest.
