I'm done with this snoozefest

Probably because most people don’t care if Blizzard gave them a different name and remember when races came unlocked with the expansion box.

So my guess would be that you’re confused because you are accepting that they are something different because Blizzard said so, and other people are not.

on a side note these grinds would be better with a few extra Tortollan quests to break up the boredom.

I liked the OP’s post because I can’t emphasize this enough.

That and milk every last penny and second out of brand loyalists.

Or if it was just honored. I think most reasonable people would be willing to help you out like that without them needing to worship the ground you walk on.

I dont even know what to say anymore. You are right and I absolutely hate Acitivision blizzard.

judging by the business decisions they have made i’d say the feeling is mutual.

Why did you lvl from 1-120? doesnt just buying the wow thing give you a free boost or something?

Except these aren’t core races with 1-10 starting zones. So there’s a big perception difference with this.

Perhaps the grind needs to be shorter but not removed. No allied race deserves to be potentially more popular than a core one.

Nope, they are mechanically and philosophically different. I am not confused by the game, I’m confused by this thread. Either people don’t know enough or they don’t care and they just want easy access to special things. Because this isn’t a regular thing, it’s a special thing.

Aaaaand it gets worst. Just tried to do Blackrock Foundry to start a set for my Ally Warrior and wouldn’t you know it the thing has been bugged since 7.3 and they havent seen fit to even fix it…ya allied races should have been given with purchase. If blizz cant be bothered to work why should I?

My post probably came off like I meant to belittle your opinion, but what I mean is other people are looking at the extras and remaining unconvinced, because for many the only key thing is that it’s a different race. I’m sure plenty of folks would be just fine making an Allied Race in a normal starting zone with all of the extra special stuff locked behind a leveling process like the armor currently is.

I know I am. I dont care about starting at level 1 at all. I dont care about not having a mount from said race or armor before maxing out rep. I just want to roll the character I intended for an RPG. I mean at least in D&D I could do w/e I wanted (talking the table top ofc). Plus house rules are always nice. I rolled a Gnoll.

My last campaign was a dragonborn bard. Currently playing a Kalashtar in an Eberron campaign. If the DM had said I needed a max level elf or something first it would have been very strange haha.

what’s bugged with it?

you seem to be the only person on the planet currently experiencing issues… which would tend to point towards user error.

(or maybe you missed the part where raid lockouts aren’t on a daily reset, as you stated earler?)

I guess I just don’t see how they’re different aside from a name change and blizzard being too lazy to make starting zones for them.

What makes the ‘allied’ important enough to turn them from content that used to come with the box into something that I get the “privilege” of doing mindless chores for 3 weeks for?

LOL 503 players going boohoo because they cant play what they want. You have to earn it to play it.

actually I’m not. Go to WoWhead. Thats the site you people seem to be all about. There is a bug where some of the minions from the train either dont all exit, or there is no path to get to them. So you can stop the BS kissing up and get informed instead of constantly brown nosing. It’s getting really old.

I did, I paid for it. I had to work a real job to do so. So yeah, it was earned. But it’s okay I’ve decided to leave the game and wait for Reforged to come out. Everyone is happy. I have other options.

i mean… it’s not as if i run this regularly or anything… so i totes wouldn’t know.

which difficulty are you having issues with?

wowhead states that the bug was fixed within the same week it was reported.

0 Cerbyzarre on 2017/08/31 (Patch 7.3.0)

Confirmed, sent a bug report. Here’s hoping it gets fixed within the week.
1 Regalingual on 2017/08/31 (Patch 7.3.0)

Looks like it has been! I went in tonight, and the train moved on after I killed all of the trash that spawned from it.
0 Cerbyzarre on 2017/08/31 (Patch 7.3.0)

Looks like they fixed the bugged evaders as well in the same breath.

[edit]
just took one of my paladins for a run, and am experiencing the issue you’re describing… but that doesn’t mean it was the same issue which was referenced 3 years ago… especially when there has just been a major patch.

i’m currently waiting on a soft reset to try again, because it feels like it’s an issue related to killing the mobs too quickly… which believe it or not, happens when you massively outgear the content and kill things much faster than intended, breaking the scripts.

i’m going to go take a look at the lfr version with a different character while i wait for the soft reset

[another edit]
soft reset worked.
fight was fine.

Well-stated. Just a thought: I think it would be a good decision to remove time-gating from AR grinds or replace the current restrictions with a level requirement similar to the hero classes, perhaps up to level 20.
