I'm confused why some players are upset about the instance cap

It wasn’t a good change in any way shape or form is the problem.

People wouldn’t be upset if they were actually doing something, but the chose the easiest option that actually profits them money while upsetting 90%+ of players.

You are the one in the vocal minority.

Neither are absolute must have requirements to play the game, luckily! You can make do without them. They’re nice to have but not required. And, with a week or two, they can be yours even with the cap! Just keep trying.

so if its not a good change, why are you here telling those who are upset about it to chill?

If its not a good change, and doesn’t do what it’s intended to do, why defend it?

its not just about making gold.
this change actively takes resources away from the community.

it actively hurts feral druids.
it actively hurts anyone who wants to power level a friend new to the game.

My posts have never been about the very very hardcore that grind that much for pre bis. ^^ I’m more worried about the semi-new chap who hears this and thinks its going to cripple his ability to play the game. Not so, buddy!

They aren’t required true, but if I want to get them they are now further time gated away from me because of botters? I did nothing wrong, so why punish legit players for something that others are doing, it makes no sense at all.

Easily confused with stupidity.

I’m really not doing any of those things. I know it might seem like I am… I’m just trying to be supportive and help shed some light. The internet has a way of making things very hyperbolic and it can greatly influence people negatively. I want to be positive and help people stay subscribed and playing. Its not a good change, I don’t like any changes to classic.

You’re downplaying how many people care about their personal progression, and how much this can impact those players.

There’s nothing ‘amazing’ about running a friend through 10, 20, 30, or even 40 instances per day. It’s not as big of a time investment as you seem to think it is. Some of these runs, like runs for warrior friends farming SGC, take mere minutes. Few people grind “instances for 6 hours straight”, yet they will still hit the 30-per-day cap. And even if someone does grind instances for 6 hours, which I’ve done albeit rarely, why should that be forbidden?

but it is a negative.
how about i propose a change. since theirs clearly a problem with “toxic” pvpers forming groups and world pvping 15 on 1, lets make all servers pve servers.

how do you think that change would go over with the pvp community?

The same as when Blizzard tells us that we want the opposite of what we want, which they’ve been doing for years.

“you think you do, but you don’t”

They forced layering on us
They forced mega servers on us
They promised layering was gone for good after phase 1 (yet here we are)
They forced Lotus change on us (which while it was needed, it wouldn’t have been if they had just made the servers the correct size)
How many unwanted things must they force on people before it is too much?

clearly at least “one more thing”.
i vote the next one negatively impacts pvp fans.

Most of them won’t admit it, but the answer is jealousy.
“They have more than I do, that’s not fair!!!”

Also keep in mind a lot of the people who are, “hardcore” were the same ones that campaigned hard enough for Classic to be made in the first place. It certainly wasn’t the casual players.

“everyone who doesnt spend 9 hours a day running he same dungeon 30 times is “jealous” of the no-lifers who can and that’s why they like the change”

great minds at work here

As I’ve said, it takes about 1-2 hours of actual playtime and you can be completely locked out of instances for the day.

i’ve literally hit the instance cap in some dungeons per hour at the 30 minute mark.
then i go take a break, and come back.
which means that with this new cap, i’d get about 3 hours of gameplay before i was done.

Go back to retail, please. All you do is troll.

You’re free to explain why people farming gold makes you so irritated, but you’re just going to say something dumb like “not in the spirit of classic” which makes no sense at all.
and who are you to say?

Because its all PR. Bots can get around it. It helps no one but people who hate that mages can fart and get 3000 gold.
