Ilvl Scaling needs to be completely removed

Oh look, it’s not just ilvl scaling that’s still busted.

its not about whether they are soloable, many of them are more difficult now that we are 10 levels higher and 60-80 ilvls higher than we were for that content.

Agreed, great way to describe it.

Dont pat yourself on the back for being good at killing bots, you know there are people like that in league and dota, they just play vs bots.

Because shocker, the challenge isnt really a challenge for people that are needing to do something else. You see, the mobs being harder to kill when im 60 and item level 165 is a problem, because I don’t know if you noticed this or not about the game, but gear is from dungeons and raids. There are instances of pvp gear and now covenant gear but it remains mainly dungeons and raids for any real progression.

If the mobs are harder to kill, there needs to be some kind of reward. It could be exp BUT NEWS FLASH, 60 IS THE CAP, SO WHY WOULD I WANT TO TAKE LONGER KILLING WORLD MAP MOBS IF I DONT GET ANYTHING OUT OF IT.

This is why your logic is flawed, you want a challenge that doesnt reward you? You are a sadistic freak, plain and simple. The mobs dont even drop anything valuable worth selling, maybe mats, but in case you are new to mmos, mats should be farmable in a decent time span and not challenging. This item level scaling needs to go.

And another note, if the issue was quest mobs, its simple increase spawn timer, if its world bosses or rares, increase the scaling of THOSE RARES AND ELITES ONLY, WHEN I HIT A FOX WITH A FIREBALL, I EXPECT IT TO COMBUST AND DIE INSTANTLY. ITS A FOX, ITS NOT MAWSWORN, ITS NOT SOME POWERFUL BEAST, ITS A FOX, yet it takes like 12 fireballs, or some crits to kill? Get me out.

AND DONT EVEN COME @ ME WITH, ITS THE SHADOWLANDS ITS WOW’s MOS DANGEROUS ZONE, THINGS HAVE TO BE STRONG.

AHAHAHAH The Shadowlands is your average fantasy land with beings that act like humans, nothing and no area in the game screams to me shadowlands, aside from the Maw, they all eat food, prob sht, pay bills or w.e. Nothing about this world is telling me a fox should have 15k hp

I disagree with the premise. I played heavily in BC and Wrath. you felt weaker as you leveled, but when you hit level cap, the mobs didn’t change. you did. when I hit 70 in BC, it felt good as I was able to work on gear that made things easier. they didn’t get hard when I hit 70…they stayed the same.

Most of my stats didn’t change much. They didn’t grow…but they didn’t shrink either. The biggest change was when I first entered blasted with my vanilla gear, and my stats were smaller at that POINT. but they started to grow back as I leveled. In Shadowlands, my stats SHRUNK every level I gained, and are still very far below what I had at 50.

Not to mention that in BC, I was excited when I hit 70, looking forward to the stuff I could to do prep myself for Heroics and raids. This is the first expansion I’ve EVER played in Wow that didn’t feel that way, it just feels irritating. level 60 was almost a disappointment, because I knew at that point that I was going to have to deal with crud that I really didn’t want to. first time for me in wow since vanilla.

Seriously, in most other expansions what I felt was, “awesome, I can start on all that end game stuff”, this time it was, “Crap. Now i have to do the maw stuff.”

You do realize that it’s not that much harder to kill the mobs, right? I mean a fresh 60, in quest gear, might take 10s to kill a world mob and my paladin, at around 180, takes like 5s to kill mobs.

Also, you are veeeeeeery blindly overlooking how the business model of MMOs works. It really all boils down to time spent in game vs the rate at which you can chew through content and the healthy balance between them. But that’s alright, most people, like yourself, are too myopic to understand the bigger picture and only think on the mememememe mymymymymy level of life. You’d rather mentally chill playing checkers, than play chess, I get that and I even semi-respect that.

Ilvl scaling, during a current expansion, is here to stay.

Spoilers: ilvl scaling is still used in prior xpacs too! See: trying to kill BFA mobs at level 60. Do you think that that should remain in the game?

I’m aware and it doesn’t matter to 99% of players because most people are doing current content. The old content is now mostly legacy.

I’m fine with it still scaling, as are many others. There was a big blue post on wowhead about this topic recently and in a roundabout way, they basically said they are fine with the system as is. Maybe they will tweak it a little, maybe they won’t. Doesn’t matter to most players. Vocally loud minority != majority.

IDK about 99% of players… Retail has catered to xmog/achievement/mount farming players for years. Old content is part of that, so I think you are missing part of the point here.

Plus, let’s not forget the alt levelers or new players…

This is the blizzard of today. After the activision merger.

You think you do but you don’t.

Our timed metrics point to you spending more time on these activities which means that is clearly a success.

Yeah, you’ll be able to solo everything again in a few content patches. It’s not an entitlement to be able to do so.

Doesn’t really have much of an effect on players leveling and once they hit 50, they go on to SL anyways…

Quite true, but Blizzard is also not entitled to our money, either.

I think it’s a winnowing expac, to be honest. Some of us are just being told by the design that “we didn’t design this one for you”, and that’s fine, there are plenty of other things to do, but entitlement is a fun word to use because it cuts both ways.

Then go spend it elsewhere, I’m sure they will hold a small ceremony for losing your sub. The overall health of the game is far more important than satisfying the insufferable vocally loud minority.

Blizzards Champion has arisen! Stop white knighting for a company we all pay. I like SL, but asking for some acknowledgement of a bug that many people are noting is not “entitlement.” I am not in here demanding anything, I simply am stating there is a bug that is not being addressed. How is that entitled? Jeez people are negative on these forums, lol.

There was a wowhead post about this and a big blue wall of text related to it. It was a huge salad of words that basically said they are fine with scaling. Now I’m not 100% sure about BfA mobs scaling past 50, but I’m 99% sure Blizzard wouldn’t have overlooked something this simple.

You’re talking about the recent Wowhead article that posted an interview from Legion?

Yes, they said they fixed it. They obviously didn’t or people wouldn’t be complaining?
