But shadowlands will provide the exact same concept on different forms
Well yeah, that’s why I’m going to play SLs. But for the remainder of BFA, I’m just chillin. I wasn’t hyped for BFA to begin with, so that didn’t help my motivation to play it. At least I have SL hype.
Contrarian bait is the best bait.
So then hopefully you won’t mind grinding out covenants on 4 different characters? And alts after that?
There was a reason I sat out BFA. None of the content seemed fun or engaging to me.
- I correctly assessed that azorite armor would not be fun. I was correct.
- I was burnt out of world quests in Legion, and saw more of the same in BFA.
- I assumed that classes would play worse from the lack of passives and legendaries from Legion. I was correct.
In short I didn’t like the direction the game was headed after Legion, and BFA confirmed my fears. I’m also worried about SL now. It seems the developers haven’t really learned from their mistakes.
Won’t be doing that. I’m going to play Autai and the Tauren that I can’t decide what class yet. Those two are going to be my main. The other two covenants, Venthyr and Bastion, don’t interest me.
I haven’t been in the min/max life since…probably WotLK.
The only things I dont like in BfA is the RNG driven system for gear that’s blown way out of proportion and Corruption power scaling with players to literally one shot people, and it’s not just stacking 27 Infinite Stars. It’s also a mastery stacking DH one shotting with Annihilation out of Metamorphasis.
I’m an avid Mythic+ fan, so the idea of timed runs is naturally resonating with me. It pushes you to your limits
It’s all down to the individuals tastes
Im with you there, Ive picked what cov ill be going on each of my characters just based on aesthetics for that character.

Alrighty then I better not see you here complaining about elitism 6 months from now.
Yeah, I personally like the whole lock in for a covenant thing, but they can change it as well and I won’t bat an eye.

I haven’t ever cried about not joining groups and what not. I’ve always made my own so…

Now that’s likeworthy.
I think Clark is mentally incapable of grasping the idea that people might think one quest is more fun than another one.
That is more apt. My assumption on him, is something I cannot state on the forums or someone will get butt hurt or something
All these posts saying “I’m just going to wait for Shadowlands” and then I see not even half of 8.3 content they have yet to do, let alone barely touched them
And I question why? There’s still stuff you can do before the pre patch.
I’m not saying you better get gladiator/mythic Ny’loatha/+20 keys completed on all dungeons or else, I’m saying make the most out what you can do
I’m pretty sure majority have done LFR countless times but maybe at least try to do normal
I don’t care if you just killed one boss in normal Ny’loatha, at least you tried
For visions, at least get to rank 15 cloak if that’s all you can do
Get all the rewards from paragon chests
You keep going till the last day of 8.3, so that when you finally log on the first day of pre Shadowlands patch on that Tuesday, you can finally look back at what you did and be grateful you did much as you could outside of LFR/world quests
Because on that Tuesday you no longer worry about Ny’loatha, world quests, or BFA anything in general, you’re now focused on the pre patch only
When you finally retire of your Heart of Azeroth and have alot of rank 3 essences, place it in the bank, you can look back and go “yeah I did this”
When you finally take off your legendary cloak and place it in the bank as you gotten some green quest reward from Shadowlands, you can look back and go “yeah I did this too”
If people have done this, there wouldn’t be these “bring back mage tower!” Threads or something similar to it.
And guess what, when you do decide “hey let me get some stuff in BFA” 6 months into shadowlands, its very likely you can get it since you already did do the content
good post i agree with every statement
BFA is trash.
This surprises no one
That’s not how those work though. In Northrend you post up in a location and do all the stuff there. For the cloak you travel. And talk to a dude. And travel. And talk to a dude. And travel…
Even if you do the scenarios, there’s barely any actual gameplay. The cloak chain is bad quest design.
Let’s see
Do more Boring for All watch paint dry
Boring for all watch paint dry
Boring for
Ah screw it gonna watch the paint dry
Northrend you post up in a location and do all the stuff there
You go to northrend
You kill stuff
Then the quest giver says great now go over here and go kill things there
Now you kill things there, the new quest giver says, great now go travel another zone and do it again!
Now you have a quest that takes you back to an old zone you already went through before hand
For the cloak you travel. And talk to a dude. And travel. And talk to a dude. And travel…
You kill things, then you go else where, then you kill more things, and then else where
Now magni gives you quest that takes you elsewhere
I don’t see a difference
Both scenarios you’re killing things, killing 1 big bad, then off you go somewhere else
Maybe the people saying that they want to wait for Shadowlands are excited about the upcoming expansion, but are not happy with the current one? What I don’t understand is why you don’t respect their desire to get on with something new. New content at the end of a bland expansion may not feel very new to some people.
One of the coolest things about a new expansion is that fresh feeling for a few weeks. At the start of an expansion we are more or less as evenly balanced as we can get (at the end of the leveling anyways). If you pvp/competitively play at all you have a chance to be competitive before item scaling (bloat) and time (I won’t play enough to stay competitive) change all of that.
I realize this post is about me problems, but you did ask why. Imo, these are reasons why. At least for some of us.
…not all quests are just kill things.
You had quests to hide, then follow spys in nightborne quest line
You had quests to tear down wanted posters
You had quests to spray dudes with a bug sprayer in HM
You had quests to find a lost baby in HM, then escort them home
There are more to quests then kill things, and if you weren’t being purposely asinine, you would get that
